Did you know that the first Opel Zafira series was introduced in 1999? The highlight at that time was the new seat concept called "Flex7", developed on behalf of Porsche in Weissach on behalf of Opel, which allowed space for up to 7 people. With this system, the two rear seats (in the third row of seats) can each be completely lowered into the floor of the car. The middle (three-seat) row of seats, on the other hand, can be folded up and pushed forward. The system enables extremely high variability and with a 1,80 m long and up to 1,11 m wide loading area (including all seats) the system was unsurpassed at the time. Actually, due to its market success, the Zafira A was actually the savior of the old Opel location in Bochum. Had it not been for it, large parts of the Bochum production would have been discontinued in the early 2000s. The top model was the sporty model variant OPC (Opel Performance Center) which was offered with a 2,0 liter turbo and an impressive 141 kW (from autumn 2002: 147 kW) and 250 Nm of torque.

And just such an OPC model was now a guest of the ML Concept team from Gelsenkirchen and received a significant lowering using the KW coilover kit. And a new set of aluminum rims was installed and the decision was made to use the Alustar KR307 in 18 inches, which with its matt gold look goes perfectly with the black paintwork of the Zafira. And the discreet headlight covers at the front and the black taillights at the rear make the difference compared to the series. A very elegantly modified vehicle that still looks fresh almost 20 years after its production. There is not much more to say about the Zafira so we leave it with the pictures. If we get more information about the modifications, there will of course, as always, be an update for this report.
