Akrapovič sports exhaust for the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS!

Akrapovič has more than fifteen years of experience in developing lightweight aftermarket products Chimneys for Porsche vehicles, and the latest track-focused package for the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS has a clear focus on performance. The heart of the system is a completely new Slip-On Race Line (Titanium), the development of which is based on experience with the 911 GT3 (992), the Cayman GT4 (981) and the 718 Cayman GT4. This titanium exhaust system with exhaust flaps has a sandblasted finish and a new tailpipe design that is larger than stock. The outside of the tailpipes is coated, while the inside is an uncoated casting that takes on a visually pleasing blue color with use as the titanium reacts to the high temperatures.

To complete the package, the Link Pipe Set (Titanium) and a Evolution Header Set (Titanium) as an upgrade to the Slip-On Race Line (Titanium) are added, creating a complete Akrapovič system. The Link Pipe Set (Titanium) is made of titanium. The front section is cast in the in-house foundry to maintain the clearance of the original dampers and then insulated with high quality stainless steel. The set includes Sport 200 cpsi catalytic converters, which have additional insulation for heat protection.

The Evolution Header Set (Titanium) is made of titanium, with several components cast in the in-house foundry. These include special manifold connections – an Akrapovič technological and engineering innovation designed to optimize mid-range performance – and three-to-one collectors for smooth exhaust flow. Both components feature race-proven technology, having been developed from solutions used in racing systems.

Increased performance by means of an exhaust system

With the three parts of the system, power and torque increase by 26 kW (35,4 hp) at 4.900 rpm and by 50,9 Nm at 4.900 rpm when compared against a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS on the Akrapovič dyno be tested with a standard system. In addition, there is an authentic racing sound with a distinctive note when shifting. The weight of the entire system is compared to the standard one exhaust system reduced by 17,5 kg (44,4%). When fitting this package, re-mapping of the ECU is mandatory. This racetrack-oriented system was developed exclusively for use on closed racetracks.
