BILSTEIN shock absorbers for Porsche models with actively controlled chassis

Comfortable or sporty? Just a few years ago, automobile manufacturers had to decide on one of these two areas of focus early on when developing their vehicles. After all, classic passive shock absorbers only have one characteristic that defines the damping behavior. Their tuning can therefore only ever be a compromise between comfortable and sporty tuning. Modern shock absorber technology with active control, on the other hand, enables the perfect balancing act, as the chassis can be adapted to the situation on the road: either fully automatically or at the push of a button. One example is the "Porsche Active Suspension Management" (PASM), which is based on the innovative DampTronic technology from BILSTEIN. Accordingly, the suspension specialists from Ennepetal also have the right products with full PASM compatibility in the Independent Aftermarket (IAM).

100% PASM compatible - 100% driving pleasure

"At Porsche, we are one of the very few suppliers who offer these shock absorbers in the aftermarket," reveals Mustafa Yavuz, who is responsible for the technical support of the workshops at BILSTEIN Technical Support: "Of course, we at the IAM also benefit significantly from our know-how here -how in original equipment.”

"Two undercarriages in one": That's why PASM compatibility is important

With PASM, Porsche drivers can set various damper characteristics and thus settings. If you like, the active system combines two chassis in one: a sporty, comfortable one for long distances and a particularly sporty one for circuits. This wide spread between sharp driving dynamics and a high level of comfort is particularly important for the Porsche brand and its discerning clientele.

The installation of the PASM-compatible chassis components from BILSTEIN is very easy, just like the original parts, according to the Plug & Play motto. This applies to the standard replacement and improved standard replacement as well as to the performance segment. The harmoniously working damper settings were developed on the test bench and in BILSTEIN road tests.

However, BILSTEIN shock absorbers do not only support all factory features at Porsche. Mustafa Yavuz: "It doesn't matter whether it's PASM at Porsche, Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) at Volkswagen, CATS at Jaguar Land Rover or the adaptive chassis at BMW or Mercedes-Benz: workshops will find the right solution for every vehicle model with us in the field of adjustable shock absorbers ."

About Thomas Wachsmuth

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
