Fulfilling personal customer requests is an important part of Porsche's global offering. The sports car manufacturer pursues this goal with the divisions Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, Porsche Tequipment and Porsche Classic. With new, significantly expanded offers, the company wants to respond even more closely to the wishes and needs of customers. This includes various options for individualizing the Porsche sports car and making it an incomparable one-off piece. Porsche is expanding the options for personalizing individual components directly in the Car Configurator and adding so-called “Performance Parts” to the range for new, used and classic vehicles. As part of the so-called co-creation strategy, the sports car manufacturer is also reinterpreting the legendary special request program of the late 70s and will enable personalized one-off productions in the future - co-created by the customer and professionally implemented by Porsche.
The range of customization options for new vehicles currently ranges from personal customer advice during the configuration process to the implementation of limited small series. In addition, Porsche offers numerous accessory products and retrofit options for the personal dream vehicle via the Tequipment range. In the area of classic vehicles, Porsche is currently concentrating on the supply of spare parts and factory restorations. Now the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer is significantly expanding its range in all business areas. "Our goal is to present customers around the world with even more precisely tailored and needs-based products in the context of classic, existing and new vehicles, as well as a comprehensive range of accessories and customization options," says Alexander Fabig, Head of Customization and Classic. “With the new offers, we are responding to the great global demand for our products. Starting with new possibilities for the individualization and personalization of individual components to the addition of performance parts to the construction of uniquely individualized sports cars, we have the right option for every customer. "
As simple and personal as never before: individual refinements
The Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur is gradually expanding its range of customizable and personalizable products. Significantly more options will be available here in the future. Examples are different foils, own start numbers, prints on floor mats, illuminated door sill strips and logo projectors in the vehicle doors. In addition, the customer can become a designer himself during the ordering process. The personalization options include individual design elements such as colors, logos, lettering and texts. Using a digital application in the Porsche Car Configurator, it is possible to specify your own designs for different scopes. With this, for example, you can stamp your own signature on elements in the interior. The leather-covered cover of the center console is ideal for this purpose. Personalized foils on selected exterior areas and individual paintwork of the wheels complete the offer.
New components for GT models and classics
Under the term “Performance Parts”, Porsche offers a large number of new components for new vehicles, used cars and classics. The Porsche Tequipment range for new and used vehicles is aimed at the target group of motorsport-savvy drivers and amateur motorsport enthusiasts. Porsche Classic will offer new developments with a historical reference, components to increase performance as well as lifestyle products for old and youngtimers. These increase the performance of the classic or improve its suitability for everyday use. With two show vehicles based on two first-generation Cayenne models, the Classic division also provides an outlook on possible further customization options with an outdoor and off-road focus.
Modern and classic sports cars as individual pieces according to customer requirements
As part of the co-creation strategy, Porsche is reinterpreting the legendary special request program of the late 70s and will enable personalized individual items in the future - co-created by the customer and professionally implemented by Porsche. The expansion of the offer is divided into the factory installation of customer-specific color and material requests directly in the production cycle as well as the subsequent factory conversion and the unique factory after delivery of the vehicle to the customer. While the factory renovation also aims to implement individual colors and materials, the unique factory product represents a consistent technical new development. Depending on the age of the respective vehicle, either the technical experts from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur or those from Porsche Classic take care of the implementation.
