As is well known, Ford sells the mighty 2020 F-150 Raptor only in the body variants SuperCab and SuperCrew. Both are powered by the EcoBoost V6 and let tuners around the globe fall into a good order book. Why? There are simply countless V8 fans for whom a Raptor is only a real Raptor when it has a fat eight-cylinder under the hood. And Texas-based PaxPower is one such company that has benefited from the fan base's desire for a V8. And they have already converted some F-150 Raptors or normal F-150s to Raptors and either equipped them with a V8 engine or heavily tuned them using a compressor. And one of those vehicles is this very special raptor. And it's definitely a bit more special!

5,0-liter V8 supercharged engine

The Oregon owner commissioned PaxPower with the conversion to a supercharged V8 and a short flat loading area (flat bed). As the head of a construction company, the customer had owned many large and heavy flatbed trucks such as an F-350 or an F-450 in the past. But now it should be something "lighter, faster and more powerful“Be fun too! PaxPower got to work and used a 2020 Ford F-150 Lariat with a 5,0-liter V8 engine as the basis. As the "usual OEM Raptor conversion " carried out, which replaced the factory body parts and the chassis with OEM parts from the Raptor including beadlock aluminum rims. The standard 401 PS V8 was persuaded to output 2,9 PS using a 758-liter Whipple compressor and a Borla double exhaust system, and as a visual highlight there was a self-made flatbed. Here you had to give a lot of thought because the accessory shelf has nothing of the kind in store for the F-150.

Created in cooperation with TurnKey Industries

PaxPower therefore worked with the high-end trailer manufacturer to manufacture the new rear end TurnKey Industries together. The rear area is now made of lightweight aluminum and has a functional loading floor. Nevertheless, it should not only be practical, but also look good with the rest of the vehicle! So the rear section got exhibited fenders based on the widening of the Raptor components in front. A functional roof rack and off-road LED lighting have also been installed on the F-150. The new loading area has an approximately 1,8 meter long loading floor as well as a new frame with fully-fledged springs and dampers so that it can still be fully used off-road. And to take up the front of the Raptor, the aluminum rear has received elements such as accent lighting, sensors for monitoring the blind spot, a reversing camera and dynamic brake lights from the Ford Mustang.

also suitable for other purposes

The specially made rear bumper is optically based on the Raptor apron at the front and is even equipped with parking sensors and a trailer hitch. The "Flatbed Raptor" also has a special box / tank combination that can transport an additional 340 liters of diesel fuel, tools and an air compressor to the construction site. Incidentally, the light flat bed is flexible and can also be used on other vehicles for welding equipment, for snowmobiles or even as an attachment for a camper. The costs for such a project, however, amount to around 110.000 US dollars "including" F-150 with 5.0-V8.
