So far, most car fans have only known Pininfarina as a designer, who has created various Ferrari models and is also responsible for the design of other automotive icons. Now, after the "Volumex" as an elegant sports convertible from the 1980s, you would like to gain a foothold in the automotive high-end segment again and have already drawn up a plan for how to get quantities in different segments. After trials with the automobile manufacturer Hybrid Kinetic, which is based in Hong Kong and used to develop some luxury models that were previously only presented as concept cars at trade fairs, the Pininfarina Battista (internally called PF0) is now a hypercar with an electric drive , which is supposed to frighten the established opponents of Bugatti or Koenigsegg and was already introduced in 2019. The design studio also wants to use it to demonstrate its expertise in sports car construction.
The design line is reminiscent of Ferrari.
When designing the new Pininfarina Battista, you can immediately see that the Italian designer was responsible for many Ferrari models. Above all at the front, the new super sports car is reminiscent of the brand's current models with the Cavallino Rampante, the jumping horse. The sideline is then dominated by the current Le Mans style and is not unlike a McLaren, as it has parallels with the current 720S. The cockpit is strongly reminiscent of a pilot's cockpit and the driver feels like a perfectly tailored suit. At the rear, the mighty rear wing immediately catches the eye, which should ensure proper contact pressure to keep the car stable on course, even at high speeds. The light strips at the rear almost go down next to the wing during the day, but at night they naturally create a wow effect that should not only impress pedestrians but also other drivers. In addition, the Battista presents a powerful air control unit on the body, which is bursting with sportiness, and gives the Pininfarina an extremely exemplary aerodynamics, whereby the hypercar sets the bar even higher when it comes to acceleration.
Electric motor with overwhelming power.
The purely electrically powered Pininfarina Battista develops the incredible power of 1900 HP and almost extraterrestrial-looking 2300 Newton meters of maximum torque. It outshines all known hypercars and sprints from 2 to 0 kilometers per hour in 100 seconds. The acceleration from 0 to 300 km / h should take less than 12 seconds, a value that sounds breathtaking, and the top speed is only electronically limited at 350 km / h. With these mileage, the Battista baptized super athlete leaves everything that stands in his way behind and sets new standards in mileage.
between 1,75 and 2,2 million euros
The Italians estimate between 1,75 and 2,2 million euros. For this you move in an exclusive circle. Because of the limited Battista there should only be 150 vehicles worldwide. 50 are going to the USA, another 50 to Europe and to the Middle East one would also like to export 50 vehicles. Thanks to the electric motor, the green conscience of the handpicked customers is not in danger, and with the incredible electric power of the racer, which has a 120 kWh battery, it is ideally possible to cover distances of up to 450 km without recharging the battery to have to. The price for the exclusive masterpiece of Italian automotive art in the seven-figure range is therefore not really unfounded.
Battista Anniversario at the Geneva Motor Show
And there will even be a very special model for the Geneva Motor Show. The “Battista Anniversario” will be presented there - as a handcrafted, purely electrically powered GT super sports car in a strictly limited edition. The Anniversario is being built on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of Pininfarina and as a tribute to the company's founder Battista "Pinin" Farina. The Battista Anniversario will only be available exactly 5 times and it will be built by hand in Cambiano, Italy. It is said to be the fastest and most powerful vehicle ever made in Italy. With a special aerodynamics package, it should have improved driving dynamics properties compared to the "normal" Battista. Incidentally, test drives will take place with racing driver Nick Heidfeld and in summer 2020, a limited number of potential customers will have the opportunity to experience the Battista on test drives.
