1970s Plymouth Superbird replica with Hellcat V8!

The 1970 Plymouth Superbird was available with three engines. A 440 with a four-cylinder carburetor, the 440 "Six Pack" and the NASCAR-derived 426 HEMI with two four-cylinder carburetors. But the superbird that this post is about has a complete one different engine built in and it's not even a real superbird. It's actually a Plymouth Satellite from 1970 that is looking for a Catering basically transformed into a copy of the superbird. Specifically, the conversion is a so-called Restomod, so an old vehicle with modern technology that is currently on Mecum Auctions will be auctioned with an estimate of between $ 250.000 and $ 300.000 and no starting price. The unique piece is painted in the eye-catching FJ5 Lime Green and there is also a completely black interior with modern bucket seats.

Challenger SRT Hellcat engine

And in complete contrast to the Satellite from the 70s or the original Superbird, this vehicle has an ultra-modern one 6,2 liter HEMI from a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat model year 2016 under the sheet metal. As is well known, the engine produces at least in series form 717 PS and 881 Nm torque and one is also installed Fuel pump, which is said to be designed for up to 1.000 hp. So there is still a lot possible!

The Battery was moved to make room for the air intake to create, and the conversion is switched by means of Tremec six-speed manualthat also comes from a Hellcat. There was another up front RMS F frame with rack and pinion steering and the classic is braked with a Six-piston braking system on the front axle. Instead, there's one in the back RMS four-link suspension together with one Four piston braking system (Wilwood) installed. There are also ultra-chic Multi-spoke rims with polished beds and Low-profile tires all around, one Alarm system is installed and for enough traction the 8,75 inch (approx. 22 cm) differential on the rear axle.

with XXL rear wing, of course

The body received the typical one for the transformation to the Superbird Firebird nose, a front spoiler, new front fender, modified headlights front and rear, chrome-plated A pillars, the unmistakable XXL rear wing with Road Runner graphics and even with regard to more comfort, a lot has happened. Namely, one is installed Vintage Air Climate Control, there was a cool one Pistol grip shift lever and join them Carbon Details on the dashboard as well Mopar sports steering wheel.
