Polestar is expanding its tuning-based Polestar Engineered product range with the introduction of the Polestar 2 BST edition 270. The new version leverages the company's decades of tuning expertise, with the clear goal of creating the most dynamic electric car to date. As the name suggests, only 270 units will be built exclusively for Europe, North America and China. Only about 35 copies are planned for Germany. “The response to the specially modified Polestar 2 that we launched at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2021 has been great. This response made us realize that we should bring such a version into production,” said Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar. The production vehicle includes mechanical and key design modifications to differentiate it from the standard Polestar 2 models. The result is a car that offers a superior, dynamic experience behind the wheel.

The two electric motors and the 78 kWh battery achieve the maximum output of 350 kW (476 hp) and a torque of 680 Nm, paired with improved response and sportier dynamics. Suspension modifications include a lower ride height (-25mm), specially designed and unique 2-way adjustable Öhlins dampers with additional adjustment chambers mounted under the hood, a front cross brace, 20 percent stiffer springs and unique new matte black 21-inch - Alloy wheels inspired by the Polestar 1.

For the tires, Polestar uses 245/35R21 Pirelli P Zero, which were specially developed for this vehicle. The standard 4-piston Brembo brakes are retained. The limited-edition model is available in Thunder or Snow exterior colors and with a Charcoal WeaveTech interior. The body looks more massive thanks to the fully painted bumpers and side skirts. A matte black body stripe is available as an option, as is a matte Battleship Gray paint finish.

Interested parties in the relevant markets are invited to express their interest at polestar.com, whereupon Polestar Specialists will personally coordinate the further purchase process. The start of production is planned for mid-2022, with delivery starting in the fourth quarter of this year. Polestar intends to list on the Nasdaq as part of a proposed merger with Gores Guggenheim, Inc. (Nasdaq: GGPI, GGPIW and GGPIU) in the first half of 2022.
