Polestar Precept makes it into series production with a PET interior!

Polestar confirms that the Polestar Precept design study will go into production. The study vehicle, unveiled earlier this year, was conceived as a manifesto illustrating the future of the brand and was deliberately presented as a vehicle vision, not a concept vehicle. Precept shows the future design direction of the Swedish electronics brand and also sheds light on Polestars further developments in terms of digital technology and the use of innovative sustainable materials, both inside and outside. "Fascinating. Spectacular. State-of-the-art. We'd love to see him on the street! " These statements hit the press about Precept, and the public agreed: "We want it in reality ”. So we decided to have it produced“, Comments Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar.

"Consumers want to see real change in this industry - not just dreams. Now Precept is making an even stronger statement. We are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our cars and our company. The goal must be climate neutrality, although I am aware that this is of course a long-term goal.“The interior of the Polestar Precept features a mix of sustainable materials, including recycled PET bottles, reclaimed fishing nets and recycled cork vinyl. An external partner Bcomp Ltd. Developed flax-based composite material can be found in many interior and some exterior parts. The goal of Polestar is to bring a large part of these sustainable and natural materials into mass production. With product development already underway, Polestar confirms that the Precept will be produced in China, where a new manufacturing facility is being built.

This is to ensure that the plant is climate-neutral and one of the most intelligent and networked automobile production facilities in the world. This climate-friendly journey began at Polestar's original manufacturing facility in Chengdu, where Polestar 1 is already manufactured. The Polestar Production Center, which was only inaugurated in 2019, is the first LEED Gold-rated automotive production facility in China and is 100% renewable energy. "China is a home market for Polestar, and we can see that striving for more sustainability is becoming increasingly important here“, Continues Thomas Ingenlath, who will also be present at the 2020 Beijing International Motor Show. "With this new factory, we will raise the bar yet again with the aim of producing the most advanced, high-quality electric car in China with the lowest carbon footprint". About Thomas Wachsmuth

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
