It's going to be fast: 2022 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS!

The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 is getting a big brother: the 718 Cayman GT4 RS. The new top model of the 718 family is ideally equipped for its world premiere in November. In the final test drives, the first 718 with the abbreviation “RS” impressively demonstrated its driving dynamics potential both on winding mountain passes and on the circuit. Brand ambassador and development driver Jörg Bergmeister lapped the 20,832-kilometer Nürburgring-Nordschleife in a slightly camouflaged production vehicle in 7: 09,300 minutes. The shorter version, which was used as a benchmark in the past and is 20,6 kilometers long, was completed by the GT4 RS in 7: 04,511 minutes - exactly 23,6 seconds faster than the little brother 718 Cayman GT4.

To protect the driver, the mid-engined sports car was equipped with a racing seat. Optionally available Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires were fitted. A notary confirmed the serial condition and weight of the vehicle. “During development, we gave the GT4 RS everything that characterizes a real RS: lightweight construction, more downforce, higher engine power and, of course, even more direct handling. The fantastic lap time on the Nordschleife is impressive proof of how clearly these improvements are noticeable in terms of driving dynamics, ”says Head of GT Vehicles Andreas Preuninger. "Our customers can look forward to a genuine driver's car that is very enjoyable to drive."

“The 718 Cayman GT4 RS is an uncompromising driving machine. It feels as agile as a go-kart on mountain roads and is still impressively stable on the racetrack. Otherwise a lap time at this level is not even possible, ”says Jörg Bergmeister. “It is one of the sharpest cars that Porsche has ever developed. And you really have to experience the breathtaking soundscape yourself, ”adds the world-class driver, who devoted more than 500 hours to the 718 Cayman GT4 RS during development during test and set-up drives.
