Off to the terrain with the 911! Porsche 991 (XNUMX) Safari Study!

The 911 from Porsche has always been fascinating with a little more ground clearance! And it wasn't until October that a mysterious 911 prototype with increased ground clearance was photographed on the Nürburgring. Speculations immediately started about a safari-like variant as an ultra-modern homage to the 911 SC Safari. Now we know the thoughts weren't completely wrong. Porsche developed the 2012 Vision Safari in XNUMX, but only now is it allowed to go public. And it's even a drivable prototype. It was used on the gravel surface of the company's own test facility in Weissach.

Based on its predecessor from 1984, the 911 Vision Safari is raised, has flared wheel arches and the front and rear aprons are reinforced. There is a light bar on the roof for improved illumination, but unfortunately we cannot see what is going on inside. Allegedly there is a cabin with racing seats and a roll cage. And behind the seats there is a shelf for the driver's helmet, which can be cooled by a built-in fan. It is one of a total of 15 spectacular individual pieces from the presented book "Porsche Unseen". And from next year the scale models and prototypes can also be seen in the Porsche Museum in Zuffenhausen. If we get more information, there is of course an update for this report.
