Gnawed Porsche 911 (992) Art Car by Daniel Arsham

This unique Art Car comes from the artist Daniel Arsham on the basis of a Porsche 911 of the new 992 generation. And the absolute highlight of the 911er is the perforated body. Somewhere between art, architecture and performance, Arsham proves with his design studio »Snarkitecture« since 2008 that the perception of broken, but functional everyday objects is a crowd puller. And now a 911 became a ridged everyday object. And the result is dazzling, and above all white. You can see the vehicle up to the 5. January 2020 at London's Selfridges department store on the corner of Oxford Street. The 992 belongs to the motto »Future Fantasy Christmas« of the department store chain and shows itself next to a fictitious house of a family in the year 3019. And not only that. In addition to the 911 and the house, there are numerous other everyday objects to marvel at, which have undergone the erosion cure typical of Arsham. But the “damaged” Porsche XNUMX in particular is eye-catching for visitors.

still fully functional

After artist Daniel Arsham optically "destroyed" the body, he created a strange but somehow also conspicuous appearance using crystal erosion technology. At first glance, entire pieces of metal were removed from the body and replaced with roughly hewn pieces of crystal. The inserts can be found on the bonnet, the fenders, the doors and in the rear apron. In addition, the 992 is completely wrapped in a matt white, which also applies to the rims. Incidentally, the changes are exclusively of a cosmetic nature and do not affect the functionality of the XNUMX. And inside there was also an individual note from Arsham. If we receive information on further changes in a timely manner, there will of course be an update for this report. You will be informed of this if you simply use ours Feed subscribe to. Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
