A highly topical 50 with quotes from the 60s and early 911s: Porsche is the first of four collectibles from the Heritage Design strategy to present the 4 Targa 2020S Heritage Design Edition. Historic design elements in the exterior and interior have been reinterpreted and combined with the latest technology in an exclusive special model from the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. This can now be ordered and will be available to dealers in autumn 992. In keeping with the internal model series abbreviation, the number of pieces is limited to 911 pieces. Parallel to the introduction of the special model, selected interior elements are available for all current XNUMX models as part of a Heritage Design Package. Porsche Design has designed a high-quality, limited-edition chronograph exclusively for buyers of the collector's item.

authentic look in the style of the 50s

"With the Heritage Design models, we evoke memories of the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s among customers and fans. No brand can transfer these elements into the modern age as well as Porsche. In this way we fulfill the wishes of our customers. With the exclusive special models, we are also establishing a new product line that represents the 'lifestyle' dimension within our product strategy“Says Oliver Blume, CEO of Porsche AG. The exclusive Cherrymetallic paintwork and four other available exterior colors and gold-colored lettering create an authentic look in the style of the 50s. High-quality white foils in historical design characterize the exterior of the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition. The spear-shaped motorsport graphic on the front fenders is particularly striking. These so-called “spears” are a quote from the early days of Porsche Motorsport. Another highlight is the Porsche Heritage badge on the boot lid grille, whose design is reminiscent of the badge on the Porsche 356, which was awarded when the 100.000 km mark was reached. The seal of quality from bygone times is - with a modern interpretation - adorning the rear of all four Porsche Heritage Design models. The historic Porsche coat of arms from 1963 on the bonnet, steering wheel, wheel hub covers, vehicle key and embossed on headrests and key case, together with the standard 20- / 21-Carrera Exclusive Design wheel and the black-painted brake calipers in a classic look, take a further bow into the past.

with bi-color leather interior

The interior also pays homage to tradition: the exclusive bi-color leather upholstery combines leather in Bordeaux red with OLEA club leather in Atacama beige or black leather with OLEA club leather in Atacama beige. With corduroy - used on seats and door panels - a material that is already used in the Porsche 356 returns and revives the spirit of the times and the fashion of the 50s. The rev counter and the stopwatch in a classic look with green lighting underline the emotionality of the concept as well as the perforated headlining in microfibre and the extensive Exclusive leather manufacture. A metal badge on the decorative panel on the dashboard visualizes the individual limitation number.

The first Heritage Design model is based on the new 911 Targa of the 992 generation, which was introduced just a few days ago, and has the latest technologies for chassis, assistance systems and infotainment. It is powered by a 331 kW (450 PS; 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition: combined fuel consumption 10,3 - 9,9 l / 100 km; combined CO2 emissions 235 - 227 g / km) powerful bi-turbo engine. In combination with the eight-speed dual clutch transmission, the high-tech boxer enables a top speed of over 304 km / h and accelerates the 911 Targa from standstill to 3,6 km / h in less than 100 seconds (with Launch Control).

Porsche Heritage Design Strategy: Classic design elements reinterpreted

The Heritage Design models emphasize the “lifestyle” dimension, which stands for particularly emotional concepts within the Porsche product strategy. The "Style Porsche" design department, together with the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, reinterprets iconic 911 models and equipment from the 50s to 80s and revives typical features. The Heritage Design Package for the 911 Speedster from 2019 has deliberately given a first look at this strategy. Porsche will now launch a total of four special models at intervals and in limited numbers.

Chronograph 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition: the clock to the car

Porsche Design has designed a high-quality timepiece exclusively for owners of the limited special model: the chronograph 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition. This mechanical watch is elegant and puristic and, like the vehicle, limited to 992 pieces. In several details, the designers orientated themselves on the legendary Porsche 356 and the iconic Porsche 911 Targa: The design of the dial with white second hand and green rings in "Phosphor Green" is based on the speedometer and tachometer of the vehicles. The hour indices are in the typical Porsche font. The bracelet is made of original Porsche interior leather. The embossed "911" is another tribute to the sports car icon.
