Sacrilege! - 1980s Porsche 928 with LS3-GM-V8!

It is still an impressive Gran Turismo today, but it was too far ahead of its time. Thus it became a huge flop and ensured that Porsche almost had to file for bankruptcy. the Porsche 928 has remained without a direct successor to this day, but it would certainly be an exciting project if one were to decide in Zuffenhausen to reissue a two-door Gran Turismo with a front engine. But the likelihood is low, since two-door front-engined coupés are acutely threatened with extinction, and even an electrified two-door car would probably fall victim to the red pen in the next operational calculation. To a Tuning sacrifice Unfortunately, this also became this classic Porsche 928 from 1980, which is based in the USA, and which we are now introducing to you in more detail.

A golden surprise egg!

The original V8 was actually against one LS3-V8 from General Motors exchangedwhich, from our point of view, has watered down the character of the vehicle. on Bring a trailer however, the specimen was recently sold for 52.500 US Dollars auctioned. A lot can be said about American tuners, but definitely not that they know and respect the Porsche myth.

After one 911 with Corvette engine, which we reported to you some time ago, is now the next automobile Frankenstein that rolled off the production line in Swabia decades ago. Painted in Nordic Gold, a shrill and mismatched shade of gold that has already transformed the once-understated classic into a rolling one even without the infamous innards transplanted into it fair booth makes us feel sorry for the vehicle. Koni damper and World champion springs ensure that the "piece of gold" has been lowered a little and can now be moved a little more dynamically.

A modern one Bremsanlage from Wilwood enables the 928 to cope well with the massively increased performance, and also safely decelerates from high speeds. We also find them to take getting used to Fikse rimsthat have a 17-inch format and, with their loft bed design, five spokes and shiny chrome finish, don't want to fit in with a Porsche.

Completely crazy interior!

If you thought that the bad taste could only be seen on the exterior, then we have to disappoint you. the seat covers Checkered flag designs, which are tasteless and more likely to attract public nuisance than positive attention, are some of the most terrifying interior details we've seen so far. The bird shoots the matching ones Door panels that give the impression that the vehicle is a Burlington promotional vehicle. Apparently this is factory equipment! But there are also good things that have found their way. Namely a JBL sound system with amplifier, 10 ″ subwoofer and Bluetooth connectivity. But that's not enough to make up for the first impression, and so we keep our fingers crossed when assessing the cockpit.

A 6,2-liter V8 drives the monster!

Now we come to the drive of the Frankenstein Porsche. And here Porsche fans have to be really strong! A General Motors V8 with a displacement of 6,2 liters, which is normally used in Chevrolet models, drives the four-wheeled curiosity. The engine is one Crate enginepurchased without a vehicle. The power is transmitted via a Transaxle with six hand-torn forward gears on the Rear wheels. Unfortunately, we don't know anything about the power, the torque and the driving performance, but the vehicle should be well suited as a getaway vehicle if you are so ashamed after entering that you want to flee quickly.

Our conclusion on the Porsche 928:

An imposition that proves that there are tuners overseas who have less culture than yoghurt. Something like this can only be done by an automobile bogus. We are stunned how you can do such a thing to a Porsche. If we get more information about the changes, there will of course be an update for this report.
