Unique: Porsche 944 S as a crazy 6 × 6 pickup conversion!

A Porsche 944 S as crazy 6×6 pickup conversion? There is! We have seen many pickup conversions in recent years, but so far no one has had a classic 944 as a donor vehicle as a basis. But the vehicle in the pictures, with three axles, a removable roof and several parts from various Porsche vehicles, is such a specimen. It is currently being offered for sale in this country, with the price of €175.000 making a real statement. To justify the price, the owner states that the conversion took around 2.500 hours of work. The project apparently began in 1995 and was only completed in stages in 2021. According to the ad, the vehicle is still street legal and has driven around 1.200 km since its completion.

6×6 pickup conversion

The front end is from a Porsche 944 S2 (1989-1991), but the headlights are from an older example. They come from the 924 Carrera GT (1980). Incidentally, the unique piece is painted in "Continental Orange" and the eye-catching paintwork is combined with black graphics. When it came to the wheel set, the decision was made to use six (!!!) 17-inch wheels Alloy wheels (7 and 9 × 17 inches) from BBS, which come from a 993 Turbo (1995) and are equipped with tires in the format 205/50 R17 & 255/40 R 17. Although the front section looks really cool, the highlight of the conversion is of course the tailor-made rear including the loading area. In concrete terms, the rear bed is a whopping 2.050 mm long and also has a noble oak floor. The tailgate is fully functional and even detachable and the aluminum storage box can even accommodate the detachable roof.

  • Black leather interior with orange stitching
  • Seat heating on both sides
  • Targa roof (one-off production for display, removable)

The bespoke body panels are boxy in shape and culminate in wider fenders over the four rear wheels. A new bumper has also been created, which is practically even one Trailer hitch and Backup camera brings. Chrome tailpipes and round LED taillights can also be seen. And under the hood? There is a freshly overhauled 3,0-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated (transaxle) from a Porsche 968. According to our information, it should have 240 hp in the standard condition and thus more than the 211 hp of the standard 944 S2. The conversion is switched with a manual five-speed gearbox and, according to the records, the two rear axles are even driven.

with approval and TÜV H license plate

The additional axle comes from an Audi 200 Turbo and is equipped with a Panhard staff equipped, which enables easy steering and is intended to prevent uneven tire wear. So you really thought about it, that everything on Single copy also really works. This can also be seen from the fact that a brake is installed on all three axles. The lowering can also be achieved by means of KWcoilover. Now you just have to digest the price of €175.000 posted on the website 914-boxergarage (Link see photo gallery at the end of the post).
