Transformed: Porsche Boxster as Iconic Autobody 387 Speedster!

The only 4144 x built Porsche 356 Speedster is an absolute legend! The tiny and particularly flat inclined windshield, the puristic bucket seats, the small folding top and the four-cylinder boxer with "55" PS! What - only 55 hp? I agree! But the supposedly "ridiculous“55 horses are enough for a top speed of 160 km / h and the“ Super ”variant, which was introduced a short time later, even had an incredible 70 hp on offer. With its introduction, the original 356 Speedster became an instant hit, especially in the US in 1954. And back then there was still real manual work until a vehicle came onto the road. And real craftsmanship also marks this 356 Speedster as cool Replica out! That's the Iconic car body 387 Speedster that doesn't cost 300.000 euros like an original, but looks almost like that.

Iconic car body 387 Speedster

The vehicle comes from the United Kingdom and is based on the second generation of the Porsche Boxster (Type 987), which can apparently be modified as extensively as the 986 predecessor. You only got it recently Boxster Shooting Brake transformed. But back to the 987, which was made on a 987 2.7 Boxster! The vehicle was featured on the JayEmm on Cars YouTube channel and just looks amazing. The complete outer cladding seems to fit perfectly in terms of the gap dimensions and according to the video the paintwork is also of high quality. And the look of the Iconic car body 387 Speedster should not be a complete replica of a 356 Speedster, but a homage with its own accents. And we definitely succeeded in that. The electric hood is still available, but there are bespoke 19-inch rims, a small one heated Windshield, typical Speedster panels and ultra-modern LED headlights.

€ 75.000 plus donor vehicle

In contrast to the completely changed look on the outside, the inside of the 987 is partly original. But here too, a combination of brown leather and retro-styled fabric is trying to convey some classic flair. For such a 356 replica, around € 80.000 is currently due if you choose a finished vehicle. But if you prefer to own a 387 Speedster according to your own specifications, you should plan to spend almost € 75.000 plus donor vehicle. Considering the cost of an original 356 but definitely a no brainer! If we receive timely information on further changes, there is of course an update for this report.
