First attempt - MTM Porsche Boxster S with 415PS & 490NM

If Porsche only builds a four-cylinder boxer engine with turbocharger in the current 718 Boxster S, then you have to live with the fact that many will try to bring the four-cylinder, at least at the regulars' table, to six-cylinder level. In terms of performance, the old six-cylinder boxer engine is clearly inferior to the new 350 PS version anyway, but the statement "six-cylinder" alone makes a difference. The style of a six-cylinder is still different from that of a four-cylinder, but that will definitely change in the next few years. As a first in things Porsche tuning The company MTM Motoren Technik Mayer turns on and among other things offers an increase in performance for the current 718er. Basically, besides tuner ABT, MTM Motoren Technik Mayer the epitome when it comes to increasing the performance of VW or Audi vehicles. Basically, a Porsche is also the epitome of a six-cylinder boxer engine! So why not tamper with the Zuffenhausner? MTM increases the performance of the 2,5l engine from 350 PS and 420 Newton meters of torque to a significant 415 PS and 490 NM. A performance increase of 65 hp and 70 Newton meters that is already noticeable in the acceleration from 0 - 100 km / h.

Performance compensates (almost) always

The MTM Boxster accelerates to country road speed in approx. 4 seconds while the production model takes between 4,4 and 4,2 seconds for the same discipline with PDK. The top speed also benefits from the M-Cantronic system, because the Boxster now reaches almost 300 km / h (series 285). If you want, you can install a set of 20 inch Bimoto Forged rims and a complete exhaust system including front and tail pipe to increase performance. Equipped in this way, the switch from the old model with a six-cylinder boxer should certainly be much easier, even if the total price including the vehicle is close to € 100.000. If you think about getting a 911 Carrera for it, the MTM version is probably only interesting for Boxster enthusiasts. If we get more information about other modifications to the Boxster S, there is of course, as always, an update for this post.   • Performance increase of the 2,5 liter four-cylinder from 257 kW / 350 PS using M-Cantronic to 305 kW / 415 PS and 490 Nm torque (+ 65PS & 70 Nm)
  • MTM exhaust system including front and tail pipe
  • 20 inch MTM wheelset (type Bimoto Forged)
  • Top speed increased from 285 km / h to approx. 300 km / h
  • 0 to 100km / h in about four seconds

  1. I don't say anything more about these completely overpriced Porsches!
    My next one is a 450 HP Camaro, for almost half the price, with the same fun !!!
