Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid models with more range!

Porsche is increasing the electric range of all plug-in hybrid models of the Cayenne. The gross capacity of the high-voltage battery increases from 14,1 kWh to 17,9 kWh using optimized cells, which results in a range that is around 30 percent higher. The Cayenne E-Hybrid can drive up to 48 km locally emission-free according to WLTP EAER City (NEDC: up to 56 km), with the Turbo S E-Hybrid it is up to 42 km according to WLTP (NEDC: up to 53 km) . This means that all Cayenne E-Hybrid models meet the requirements for the E license plate as well as the reduced company car tax in accordance with the range criterion currently valid in Germany.

Tiptronic S eight-speed automatic transmission

In all plug-in hybrid models of the Cayenne, which are also available in the even sportier coupé variant, the purely electric propulsion is provided by the electric motor integrated in the Tiptronic S eight-speed automatic transmission. With its 100 kW (136 PS) and 400 Nm, a purely electric maximum speed of 135 km / h is possible. The respective combustion engine switches on when there is a higher power requirement or when changing to the Sport or Sport Plus driving mode. The Cayenne E-Hybrid is a three-liter V6 turbo with 250 kW (340 hp). The system output is 340 kW (462 PS). The Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid models use a four-liter V8 biturbo engine with 404 kW (550 hp), which helps the hybrid system to produce 500 kW (680 hp).

Optimized driving modes for greater efficiency

The driving modes of the standard Sport Chrono Package have been optimized with a focus on greater efficiency and performance. The e-charge mode, in which the high-voltage battery is charged while driving by means of the load point shift by the combustion engine, now follows an adapted charging strategy: The target charge level of the battery has been reduced from 100 percent to 80 percent. The reason for this is that the battery - similar to the battery of a smartphone - charges significantly more slowly and therefore more inefficiently from a charge level of around 80 percent. This also ensures that the full recuperation capacity is available at all times. This means that the e-charge mode is now more efficient than before. In the performance-oriented Sport and Sport Plus modes, the battery is always charged to a minimum level in order to be able to offer sufficient boost options for a sporty driving style. This is now done even more effectively with higher, reproducible charging power - for example in the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid in Sport Plus with an average of twelve kW.

Charging with the Porsche Mobile Charger Connect

Most of the Porsche plug-in hybrid models are charged at home, for which a conventional household or power socket is sufficient. With the Porsche Mobile Charger Connect, a charging capacity of up to 7,2 kW is possible, depending on the model. A Mode 3 cable can also be used to charge at public charging points. The Mobile Charger Connect offers numerous intelligent charging functions. A timer ensures that the vehicle is optimally prepared for a specific departure date. In addition to a predefined charging destination, the air conditioning can also be controlled in a targeted manner. Charging profiles enable the charging process to be further optimized as required. For example, preferred charging times can be specified at a certain location in order to postpone the charging process into the night and thus benefit from cheaper tariffs.

Cayenne E-Hybrid models can already be ordered in 2021

In conjunction with the optional Home Energy Manager, the range of functions is also expanded: By taking into account the entire energy load of the house, the maximum charging power is generated without overloading the house connection. The vehicle can also be specifically charged with electricity from its own solar system. If desired, all functions can be controlled via the Porsche Connect app. The Cayenne E-Hybrid models of the new model year can already be ordered. In Germany, prices for the Cayenne E-Hybrid start at 90.447 euros and for the coupé version with extended standard equipment at 95.087 euros. The Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid is available at prices from 170.023 euros, the Coupé starts at 174.083 euros - including VAT and country-specific equipment.
