The mid-range SUV called Macan has been the bestseller from the Zuffenhausen-based sports car manufacturer since its market launch in early 2014. After the success of the brand's first off-road vehicle called Cayenne, Porsche decided a few years ago to bring a more compact SUV model onto the market in order to reach SUV fans for whom the Cayenne is a size too big. Porsche has accomplished this mission with flying colors, as the sales figures for the Macan show. and the tuning scene has already discovered the more compact of the two Porsche SUVs for itself. Unlike the small 718 sports car series, which sells relatively slowly by Porsche standards, the Macan, as a smaller SUV series, immediately met all of Porsche's expectations and became a top seller in its class. And there are various Macans around the world that were subsequently refined, and we are now introducing one of them to you.
Show SUV with a sporty character
This blue Macan is immediately noticeable due to its lowering, which was achieved by a KW V3 coilover kit. As a result, at first glance it no longer looks like an SUV, but like a large station wagon. In addition, a TechArt body kit with a central diffuser installed at the rear, and the look - and therefore the sound - have been sharpened with an Akrapovic sports exhaust system. The glossy black rims have a red ring and the design is heavily inspired by the Rotiform brand, but we're assuming the set of rims is not Rotiform as the Porsche logo is on the rims. A black roof spoiler was also attached to the rear, which in our opinion would not have been necessary, although it underlines the sporty character of the vehicle. The "FBI WARNING" sticker and the third brake light with the Porsche logo are a little gimmick. However, we find the fake model lettering, which has been extended by the "S", very questionable, although a 2-liter turbo four-cylinder instead of the 3-liter V6 turbo engine is doing its job under the hood.
The Macan's engine remained unchanged.
As already mentioned, a four-cylinder heart beats under the hood, which is forcibly ventilated with a turbocharger. The unit delivers 237 hp and 350 Newton meters of maximum torque, and has been a little reduced in terms of power and torque, especially for some markets such as China, Great Britain, Brazil and Japan. The Akrapovic sports exhaust system may provide a few additional horsepower, which the Macan would look very good on, because in our opinion the performance does not quite do justice to a Porsche. With 6,9 seconds from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour and a top speed of only 223 km / h, you have to give way to a lot of cars with this SUV on the highway. That doesn't fit the sporting demands of the Zuffenhausen-based company at all. Incidentally, the power is transmitted via a PDK transmission with seven speed levels, and of course the Macan has all-wheel drive.
Porsche Macan models are stable in value
We don't know if the Macan would be well received in Germany, but if you want to get one, or maybe even already own one, then you could definitely be inspired by this type of tuning. Macan models are still relatively expensive on the used car market, and there are hardly any vehicles under 40.000 euros, as the model has a very high value retention. It is therefore not a cheap pleasure to be able to call the premium SUV your own. Of course, we have also provided a large picture gallery of the vehicle we have presented for you.
