Porsche presented the Taycan Cross Turismo to the public today with a virtual world premiere. With this versatile model version, the sports car manufacturer is expanding the product portfolio of its first fully electric sports car model series and is consequently continuing its path towards sustainable mobility. Like the Taycan sports sedan, the Taycan Cross Turismo benefits from the innovative electric drive with 800-volt architecture. The new high-tech chassis with all-wheel drive and adaptive air suspension also ensures uncompromising dynamics off the beaten track. Up to 47 millimeters more headroom for the passengers in the rear and over 1.200 liters of cargo space behind the large tailgate make the Cross Turismo an all-rounder.

"With the debut of our first fully electric sports car in 2019, we set an example," said Oliver Blume, CEO of Porsche AG, on the occasion of the world premiere of the new, even more versatile derivative. “We see ourselves as a pioneer in sustainable mobility: by 2025 we will be delivering every second new vehicle with an electrified drive - fully electric or as a plug-in hybrid. As early as 2020, every third vehicle delivered in Europe had an electric drive train. The future belongs to electromobility. With the Taycan Cross Turismo, we are taking another big step in this direction. "

Full Cross Turismo program right from the start

Four derivatives of the Taycan Cross Turismo are available from the start. The Performance Battery Plus with a total capacity of 93,4 kWh is always on board as standard. The model range includes:

  • The Taycan 4 Cross Turismo with 280 kW (380 PS), overboost output with Launch Control 350 kW (476 PS), acceleration 0-100 km / h in 5,1 seconds, top speed 220 km / h, range (WLTP) 389 - 456 km
  • The Taycan 4S Cross Turismo with 360 kW (490 PS), overboost output with Launch Control 420 kW (571 PS), acceleration 0-100 km / h in 4,1 seconds, top speed 240 km / h, range (WLTP) 388 - 452 km
  • The Taycan Turbo Cross Turismo with 460 kW (625 PS), overboost output with Launch Control 500 kW (680 PS), acceleration 0-100 km / h in 3,3 seconds, top speed 250 km / h, range (WLTP) 395 - 452 km
  • The Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo with 460 kW (625 PS), overboost power with Launch Control 560 kW (761 PS), acceleration 0-100 km / h in 2,9 seconds, top speed 250 km / h, range (WLTP) 388 - 419 km.

The high-tech chassis with all-wheel drive and adaptive air suspension is standard on all four models. The optional off-road package increases the ground clearance by up to 30 millimeters. This means that the Cross Turismo can also be driven on demanding routes off the beaten track. The standard driving program "Gravel Mode" improves suitability for bad roads.

Visually, the Taycan Cross Turismo is based closely on the Mission E Cross Turismo concept study presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 2018: the silhouette is determined by the sporty, sloping roofline - called the “flyline” by the Porsche designers. The off-road design elements include wheel arch trims, independent front and rear lower parts as well as the side skirts. In combination with the Offroad Design package, the Cross Turismo has special flaps on the corners of the front and rear bumpers and on the ends of the rocker panels. These ensure a striking appearance and at the same time protect against falling rocks.

Sporty accessories: New rear rack and e-bikes from Porsche: Porsche has developed a rear rack for up to three bicycles especially for the Taycan Cross Turismo, which sets new standards in terms of pack size and handling. It can be used universally for different types of bikes. Innovative: the tailgate can also be opened with a loaded rear rack. With the eBike Sport and the eBike Cross, Porsche is simultaneously presenting two high-quality e-bikes which, with their timeless design and powerful and sustainable drive technology, are an ideal match for the Taycan Cross Turismo.

launch

The Taycan Cross Turismo will be launched in the summer. Prices in Germany start at 93.635 euros (including 19 percent VAT and country-specific equipment).

High-tech appearance for a high-tech vehicle

The world premiere of the new Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo took place in the Hyperbowl studio at the Munich exhibition center. In this spectacular studio, the film and real world merge: the 270-degree, 40-meter-long and 5,5-meter-high LED wall, in combination with the LED ceiling, results in a screen surface of 478 square meters and 70 million pixels.
