Porsche Taycan GTS Hockenheimring Edition (2022)

To mark the 90th anniversary of the Hockenheimring, Porsche is presenting the first special edition based on its electric sports car: the Porsche Taycan GTS Hockenheimring Edition. This special edition is characterized by many unique details such as the paintwork in stone gray from the “colour of your choice” program combined with accents in bronzite. Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur customized the black leather interior with decorative stitching in Iceland green and many other elements. In several places, the anniversary logo "90 Years Hockenheimring" refers to the exclusive character of this Taycan GTS with up to 440 kW (598 hp). The guiding principle when designing the special edition was to combine the anniversary motto of the Hockenheimring “mobile evolution” with “traditional elegance”. The special edition is available in Germany and other selected European markets.

An exclusive access authorization is also part of the scope of equipment: With the help of the vehicle key, customers can identify themselves as the owner of the special edition. Then they can drive directly into the Porsche Experience Center (PEC) Hockenheimring, which is located in the heart of the racetrack. This also includes free charging for two years.² Customers can also look forward to priority parking at the PEC's so-called "early shift" events, the monthly vehicle meetings of Porsche enthusiasts.

“With the exclusive special edition, we are not only delighting the fans of our all-electric sports car, we are also showing our connection to the Hockenheimring,” says Alexander Pollich, CEO of Porsche Deutschland GmbH. “We congratulate the traditional race track on 90 years of successful history. With the Porsche Experience Center there, the racetrack has become even more of a home for our brand since 2019.” During the anniversary year, a Porsche Taycan GTS Hockenheimring Edition will be on display as a show car at the Hockenheimring.

The exterior: special coloring and high-quality anniversary logo

"Fine materials, an elegant color combination and unusual details that we haven't shown in the Taycan before - that's what makes this special edition unique," says Alexander Fabig, Head of Customization & Classic at Porsche. The stone gray paintwork comes from the “color of your choice” program and is reserved for the special edition Taycan in the current model year. This timeless, striking Porsche exterior color underlines the emotional character of the electric sports car. Bronzite was developed as a contrasting color to match this. Bronzite reinterprets classic metallic tones and provides elegant accents for the exterior and interior.

Another eye-catcher is the 21-inch Mission E design wheel. The rim star is painted in bronzite (satin finish), the surrounding rim edge is in the exterior color stone gray (high-gloss). Silky gloss and high gloss paints were applied together on a wheel rim. This combination makes the vehicle even more exclusive. The wheel cover is painted in bronzite (silk gloss) to match the rim star and features a colored Porsche crest. The brake caliper is painted in black (high-gloss).

Other accents painted in bronzite include the trim on the SportDesign side skirts, the rear diffuser insert in lamella design and the “Taycan GTS” model designation on the tailgate. On the B-pillar is a plaque with a raised printed anniversary logo and refers to the reason for the edition. The “Hockenheimring Edition” lettering next to it is in stone grey.

The interior: Iceland green topstitching and wood Paldao

The design concept of the exterior continues in the interior. The decorative stitching in Iceland green provides a contrast to the black leather interior. In this color scheme, they are a premiere in the Taycan model series. Decorative strips in open-pored Paldao wood are another highlight. The selector lever, the cup holders and the air vents above the center console as well as the side air vents on the driver's and front passenger's sides are painted in bronze. The GT multifunction sports steering wheel has been upgraded with bronzite trim panels, Iceland Green topstitching and a 12 o'clock marker. The floor mats are also finished with a leather insert and decorative stitching in Iceland green.

Another special feature is the embossed Hockenheimring anniversary logo on the lid of the storage compartment in the center console. The door sill guards made of brushed aluminum in black show the illuminated model designation "Taycan GTS". The door projectors throw the anniversary logo on the floor. The attention to detail of the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur is also evident in the vehicle key: it is painted in the exterior color and features a high-quality laser engraving of the anniversary logo.
