The AMG GT four-door is known to be very popular with YouTubers and influencers, especially when it comes to driving a car that is bursting with performance. So it is mainly younger men and now and then a few women who attach great importance to power and torque, who belong to the class of buyers of the model. With the GT63, however, Mercedes-Benz has primarily targeted the Porsche Panamera and the newly added BMW 8 Series Gran Coupé, in the four- and five-door sports sedan segment with luxury ambitions. And of course, the new AMG GT four-door is also very popular with tuners, and what can be gotten out of the splendid specimen from Mercedes-AMG is made clear to us by the tuner Posaidon, who created a creation with the GT 63 RS 830+ that it goes with can accommodate the hypercars of this world.

Visually not much changes

From the outside, the power of the modified Mercedes cannot be seen at all, because the tuning company Posaidon left the exterior largely untouched in order to keep the vehicle as optically as possible to the series condition. Only the fixed rear spoiler indicates that this is probably not a conventional AMG GT four-door. But at the latest in a drag race there are puzzled looks from every opponent, because the performance of the PS monster is out of this world. But we will go into that in detail now.

up to 940 PS and 1278 NM torque

The changes to the engine provide up to 940 hp and 1.278 Newton meters of maximum torque. Yes, you read that right! With various modifications to hardware and software, the already 639 hp AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC + becomes a true masterpiece of engine tuning. For example, the two standard turbochargers have been replaced by performance turbos with ball bearings. In addition, a completely new exhaust system including downpipes with motorsport catalysts was introduced. For this purpose, both the intake and charge air cooling have been extensively modified, as have the cylinder heads. As a special highlight, a water / methanol injection found its way under the hood of the (now) thoroughbred racer, which, with the help of a tank integrated in the luggage compartment floor, allows a generous increase in performance without overloading the engine. Thus, the durability is given even with higher boost pressure. To ensure that the new hardware achieves the best results, the software programming of the gearbox, motor and electronics has been extensively modified and optimized. The result was the unbelievable power of 940 hp, with which we had 301 hp more than with the series model, which is already not weak.

Torque 1278 Newtonmeter

Much more incredible than the power, however, is the brutal torque of 1.278 Newton meters. While an impressive 900 Newton meters are already available in the series condition, Posaidon tickled another 378 Newton meters, or a Ferrari 360 Modena + 5 Newton meters, more out of the AMG. With these fabulous values, of course, no eye stays dry when it comes to performance. The sprint from 0 to 100 km / h succeeds in an impressive 2,1 seconds despite the extremely high weight of over 2,8 tons, and from 100 to 200 kilometers per hour it takes a breathtaking 5,9 seconds. The maximum speed is stated succinctly at more than 350 km / h, but there are no exact values. However, there is one catch: The expansion stage of the engine tuning is only intended for export, as the blessing of the German TÜV is missing. A remedy, however, is an only slightly weaker version with 830 PS and 1100 Newton meters of torque, which even has a TÜV approval, and a version with 880 PS and 1.200 NM. But this is the end of the flagpole for Germany in terms of power and torque.

Brutal AMG for well-heeled performance junkies.

830 PS and 1100 Newton meters of torque should also be more than sufficient for any sports car fan, and we can already imagine that AMG clientele Posaidon will break the doors when it comes to securing such a kit.
