He climbs everywhere! The crazy Mercedes G 500 4 × 4² really went into series production and like that 6 × 6 - unique! Basically, the all-wheel drive has a pretty similar technology to the G63 AMG 6 × 6 but due to its more compact dimensions it is somehow practical. What a word in connection with this vehicle ... It was the Mercedes show car in Geneva in 2015 and only the price of 226.100 euros is probably even more extreme than the vehicle. There is permanent all-wheel drive and portal axles, an off-road reduction in the transfer case and even three differentials that can be locked while driving for that last bit of traction. There was a small catch because Mercedes already announced at the time that they deliberately avoided an AMG model in order to address a broader target group with the production model. A “broad” target group at € 226.100? 😂 But actually you can't really complain about a lack of performance in the G 500 4 × 4² either! The V8 biturbo has a whopping 422 hp and balances the monster to 7,4 km / h in 100 seconds and only stops at 210 km / h.
The engine comes from the AMG GT and that brought the team from PP performance on an idea. If everyone helps the AMG GT to perform better, why not try the whole thing on the G500 4 × 4²? After all, the requirements are almost identical and the blatant off-road tires in 325/55 x 22 inches will probably be able to bring even more horsepower to the road! No sooner said than done - after changing the turbocharger, installing a sports air filter, and revising the cylinder heads, the part suddenly pushes a whopping 500 PS & 724 NM torque to the four driven wheels. It should be noted that "NO" chip tuning has been used so far, which should certainly again cause more concern for 50-70 PS. But even with the Stage 2 Kit from PP-Performance you can do a lot more and the sound is absolutely impressive and now perfectly matches the appearance of the G500. Should we have more information about the modifications or another Stage Kit of course there is, as always, an update for this report.
