Prior Design: PD widebody kit for Ford Ranger pickup!

Hard to believe that this Ford Ranger is “not” one of the current facelift generation. In fact, it is a vehicle from the time of the model change in 2011. At that time, there was a choice of a 2,2-liter in-line four-cylinder diesel engine with 92 kW (125 PS) and 320 Nm or a more powerful version with 110 kW (150 PS) and 375 Nm . The top model was the popular 3,2-liter inline five-cylinder diesel with 147 kW (200 hp) and 470 Nm. As standard, the Ranger came to the customer with a 6-speed manual transmission, and a six-speed automatic transmission could also be ordered as an option for the two more powerful engines. The Ranger brings the power to the road, as standard, always via the rear axle, but a manually switchable all-wheel drive was included as standard.

And with extensive safety equipment such as an anti-lock braking system (ABS), vehicle dynamics control (ESP), hill descent control, hill start assist, trailer stabilization, safety brake assist, emergency brake light, rollover protection and a traction control system, it was not surprising that the Ford was a real one Blockbuster in the program. And of course that also calls a large number of tuners to the screen. In this country, however, significantly less than in the USA. Fortunately, the Prior Design team from Kamp-Lintfort made it through. They created an extensive widebody kit and installed it on a Ranger with the “Wildtrak” equipment line. The most striking feature are of course the mighty fender flares at the front and rear. They are attached without exposed screw connections and thus fit perfectly into the body. There is also a front grille without a brand emblem and a rear apron and a small rear spoiler are also available.

The kit is made of a fiberglass-Dura-Flex mixture and has a good surface structure that can be easily painted. The photo vehicle received further changes, however. On the roof there was an attachment with additional LED lights and the Ranger also stands on powerful off-road tires with BiColor rims. And apparently there was also a lift. However, more information is currently missing. And finally ... The PD Widebody | With the changes, Ford Ranger from Prior Design is growing almost to the level of an F-150 and impresses us as a model generation 2011.
