A Puch G as a motorhome? Lorinser makes it possible!

We got tuners a year ago Lorinser shown that also a Mercedes (Puch) G to the offroad restomod classic can be repurposed. You have never heard of the Puch G? In principle, this is nothing else than the legendary Mercedes G model with a different emblem. Similar to Vauxhall and Opel. Depending on the region, the G model was previously sold as the Puch G. And as is well known, "Lorinser classic"Countless Puch G Restomods from Swiss army stocks to the man (and the woman) brought. And the 230 GE version with hardtop meant that Lorinser came up with the idea of building an expedition mobile home. And the conversion is already spectacular at first glance. The rear superstructure is completely printed with maps by the cartographer Petrus Bertius from the 17th century. And so that the vehicle with 116 PS (85 kW) four-cylinder gasoline engine and 4-speed automatic can reach even the most remote areas of the map, Lorinser donated the G with all-wheel drive and rear differential lock to powerful all-terrain tires from BF Goodrich Steel rims from DOTZ 4 × 4.

Vehicle is completely restored

The body is painted matt green-grey and the underbody is there dry ice blasted and then preserved. In addition, the seats in the cabin have been renewed and many other works have been carried out. The tuner's classic car department has also installed a practical trailer hitch and modern LED headlights and wheel spacers are now installed. But the focus is of course on the housing structure. Lorinser has repainted the hardtop and provided it with a polyurethane coating and applied the aforementioned map as a foil. The interior is optimally ventilated and flooded with light thanks to the side sliding windows and the tilting skylight, to which the windscreen and the window in the rear door also play their part. The small cabin also has a practical room layout and does not lack an auxiliary heater, a foldable table, a microwave, 220 volt sockets, a combined washbasin and sink with a water tank and two foldable beds.

various storage options in the cabin

There are also various storage options in the form of built-in cupboards with integrated panniers. For the outside, the Push G has an awning with it and even an outdoor shower can be connected. The power supply is provided by on-board batteries that are charged via solar panels on the roof. Alternatively, conventional charging by means of an external feed, for example at a campsite or in the garage at home, is also possible.
