In the AMG A 45 S 4MATIC + (W177), Mercedes has stuffed the most powerful production four-cylinder (M 139) in the world and thus ensures driving performance at the level of a thoroughbred athlete. Whether A45 with 387 hp or the A 45 S top model with 421 hp and 500 Nm maximum torque, the propulsion is gigantic for this class. And the top model is even more aggressive visually. The front shows up with Panamericana grill (A 35 has the Twinblade grille), the air intakes in the apron are larger and the front fenders are flared. In addition, a hood with two power domes, which the C63 also has. The A 0 S sprints from 100-45 km / h in just 3,9 seconds and only at 270 km / h does the electronics cut the pace gently.
490 PS & 540 NM torque
The Specific output of just under 211 hp is phenomenal and the maximum torque is also kind of crazy with 500 Nm. Some athletes from 10 years ago would be happy to have such key data in their vehicle registration. And who is still thinking of an increase in performance? The team at RaceChip do that! They give the A45S the in-house GTS Black Tuningbox software and achieve an increase in performance of a remarkable 69 hp and 40 Newton meters of torque. That means it is working from now on 490 PS & 540 NM in the Stuttgart, which reaches a "wheel performance" of 405 PS. And optionally the RaceChip RS can also be installed, which still enables 58 hp and 33 Nm torque.
