Unofficial 1/4 mile record in the Tesla Model S Plaid!

Unconfirmed statements by Drive Tesla Canada After a brand new Tesla Model S plaid in Midnight Silver recently got a quarter of a mile on the Famoso Raceway car club from 9,23 seconds set up and simultaneous on this drag one Top speed of 244,87 km / h reached. If these claims are correct and official, then the Model S Plaid may now and would even hold the record for production vehicles on the quarter mile faster than a Bugatti Chiron. Although the Rimac C_Two supposedly make it in 9,1 seconds and the SSC Tuatara in 8,8 seconds, how official it all is, we don't know. Of course, this also applies to the Model S. The quarter mile run was held on May 11th on the Famoso Raceway car club in Bakersfield, California, and the result exactly matches the factory information on the Tesla Motors website.

"1-foot-rollout" or not?

Allegedly, the record time was achieved with full equipment, but the wheels and tires used are unknown. We also do not know whether there is a "1-foot rollout“Was. So a time measurement that only I nachdem the car was already 11,5 inches or approx. 30 cm in motion, was taken and usually allows an advantage of approx. 0,2 to 0,4 seconds. Allegedly, Jay Leno's garage and crew are said to have filmed the run. And Jay Leno is said to have driven the Model S Plaid on the drag strip with two other passengers in the car and a time of 9,50 seconds. If we receive more information in a timely manner, there will of course be an update for this report. You will be informed about this if you simply use our Feed subscribe to.
