Emory Motorsports lays down! After cleansing All-wheel Porsche 356 Coupe and the wrong one 356 RSR Outlaw Now comes another spectacular 356 on the stage. Emory is known for specializing in dreamlike Porsche restomods (old body paired with new technology) and most of all, the starting point is the classic 356 built from 1948 to 1965. And this time you grab a copy of 1959 and a rare Speedster. At least that's what you want to mean at first glance. The starting point was not a real Speedster but a normal coupe. However, the vehicle was injured with particularly severe damage to the roof, so that you have renounced the same on the lid during reconstruction. Emory Motorsports has decided to turn the 356 into a Speedster tribute.

now with 205 hp - 2,4 liter engine

And if you know something about the history of the 356, it could have been the year of construction. The real Speedster has been built namely only from 1954 to 1958. In addition, this vehicle also carries no Speedster emblem. But it carries a strong engine under the hood with the large air openings. The standard 1,6-liter four-cylinder was replaced by an 2,4-liter engine and so the performance increases to 205 PS. Coupled with the new engine to a crisp four-speed manual gearbox and remained only the factory rear-wheel drive. In combination with only 839 kg empty weight quite an announcement also to current vehicles. After all, this corresponds to a power of 4,09 kilograms per horsepower and thus the Emory 356 Speedster is even significantly below a current Subaru Impreza WRX STI and even a Porsche 718 Cayman is no better there.

even a new nameplate was thought

And of course there was a state-of-the-art chassis with adjustable Koni dampers to bring the performance adequately onto the road. And the braking system has also been adapted to the new setup. The vehicle is visually extremely clean and the large handle on the front hood, for example, has disappeared. The 356 is painted in aquamarine blue and there is a hand-painted Pegasus emblem on the fenders on the right and left. And one has also tried to do without unnecessary chrome applications. The aprons are painted in the same color as the car and only the barred headlights, the door handles and a few air vents are decorated with a little chrome. In addition, there is the chrome frame of the flat windshield. The highlight, however, is definitely the hand-made aluminum tarpaulin behind the driver, which is on the left - aerodynamically spectacular - comes up with a big racing hood.

very clean look with little chrome

Incidentally, the wheel set was chosen for the factory 15 inch large steel wheels. However, they now shine in the classic matt black and the large chrome covers with Porsche emblem as cover are completely gone. And finally, we also want to mention the cabin. There are two red leather seats with sports straps in the style of the real 356 Speedster and a beautiful three-spoke steering wheel with wooden frame. And of course, the classic round instruments are not missing for displaying the most important driving data. If we receive timely information on other changes not mentioned before, there is of course as always an update for this report.
