A dream - Restomod 1967 Corvette C2 with 525 PS-V8!

Here comes this - in our opinion - most beautiful Restomod project that we have seen so far in 2020. A 1967 Chevrolet Corvette C2 Coupe which will soon be part of "The Eddie Vannoy Collection 2020" by Mecum Auctions (June 3-7 in Jefferson, North Carolina) should be auctioned. Basically, the Vette is visually close to the original, but the built-in modern components are extremely high quality and in particular phenomenally elegantly integrated into the vehicle. For example, there would be the complete front suspension of the Corvette C5 on a space frame and for the rear axle there was the suspension from the newer C6. And the brake system with 6-piston calipers at the front and 4-piston calipers at the rear even comes from the top model Z06.

The highlight, however, is under the long bonnet where a modern aluminum LS3-V8 with electronic fuel injection works, which sends powerful 525 hp to the rear wheels using a 5-speed manual transmission from Tremec. And then there is the beautiful wheel set by Jeff Hayes from the American Speed Shop in Indiana (built the Vette) was selected. These are chrome-plated 18 and 19 inch forged wheels (Spider alloy wheels) with 235/40 and 275/35 Redline Performance Toyo tires. In combination with the specially designed chassis, which of course also has a subtle lowering, the wheelset fits perfectly in the wheel arches of the completely restored body, which in turn has been painted in elegant metallic silver. The Powerdome on the bonnet has been set off in black and the classic bumpers shine in high-gloss polished Chrome.

And the cabin is no less spectacular. Tons of light brown leather from Mercedes-Benz were used here and the color contrasted with a jet black carpet. In addition, there is a lot of chrome and fine aluminum in the interior and an absolute eye-catcher is the refurbished dashboard with the classic round instruments and the many small details such as the retro-look AM / FM car radio or the glossy black gear lever. Many invisible details such as the modern power steering or the special sports exhaust system that are integrated into the classic side pipes on the right and left round off the C2 impressively. If we receive timely information about further changes to the C2, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed if you simply use ours Feed subscribe to.
