And once again a Restomod project reaches us, that we can not deny you. We discovered it on the platform Mecum Auctions and it should be clear that the vehicle will soon be up for sale. It is a Chevrolet Corvette C1 from the year 1957 by the company SRIII Motorsports was extensively rebuilt. The tuner has built several such vehicles over the years and this copy in Glasurit white and royal blue is the number 001 ("SRIII number 0001"). And the classic look with the blue stripe over the body is inspired by the design of the Sebring, Lemans and SR2 racing cars of the time. The C1 sits on a custom chassis (Tubular frame with serial number 00001) from Automotive Design Center in Poznan (Illinois) and it took a total of 8 years to put the Vette on its feet.

It was created at the beginning of the 90 years and back then the Corvette of the model generation C4 was just up to date. No wonder that countless components like the chassis (fitted with adjustable thread springs), the brake system, the drive train and finally even the DOHC 5,7-liter LT5 V8 all-aluminum engine from the top model ZR1 at the time. The engine is the first stage of development with 385 PS and 502 NM (from 1993 there were 411 PS & 522 NM) and in combination with a custom-made air-intake system, Lingenfelter manifolds and an individual 2,5-Zoll sports exhaust system, the engine is even the one or other PS additional elicited. By the way, it will be switched with a 6 gearbox from ZF and the performance comes directly to the 44 x 3.73 inch Halibrand Kidney Bean rims with Firestone Firehawk tires in 16 / ZR8 format using a Dana 225 differential and an 60 ratio.

Countless other details such as the dark blue Stayfast convertible top or the highly polished stainless steel covers in the fenders and doors impressively round off the C1's visual appearance. And equally impressive is the invisible technology under the sheet metal. Because here you do not have to do without power steering, ABS, power windows, central locking with remote control or even air conditioning. Everything is on board plus components such as a stainless steel tank or an electric fuel pump. And befitting the booth is also in top condition and it is also complete custom, The highlights here are in any case the high quality leather upholstery in white and blue, the beautiful 3 spoke stainless steel sports steering wheel, the round additional instruments or the gorgeous center console with brushed aluminum. Only the shift knob somehow does not really fit into the successful interior as we find. Here would probably be a shorter version made of aluminum just right. Have fun watching the pictures and stay true to us!
