Restomod Kimera EVO37 with 505 PS & 550 NM in the test!

The Kimera Evo 37 is a restomod project based on the legendary Lancia 037 (Lancia Beta Montecarlo), a 1980s rally car that was the last two-wheel drive vehicle to win the Manufacturers' World Championship. The Evo 37 was developed by Kimera Automobili from Italy and is intended to be a modern interpretation of the classic that respects its DNA and at the same time is equipped with the latest technology. The Evo 37 maintains the silhouette of the Lancia 037 Stradale but is outfitted with carbon body panels, LED lights and a roll cage. It measures a compact 4,06 meters in length, 1,90 meters in width and 1,20 meters in height. The wheelbase is 2,52 meters. The wheels are 18 inches at the front and 19 inches at the rear and fitted with 245/35 and 295/30 tires.

The braking system consists of 365 mm discs and four-piston calipers on both axles. The heart of the Evo 37 is clearly the 2,15-liter four-cylinder with turbo and supercharger, which is based on the concept of the historical model. The longitudinally installed engine has dry sump lubrication and delivers 505 hp with a maximum torque of 550 Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential gearbox from the Lamborghini Gallardo and Audi R8. The Evo 37 weighs around 1.100 kilograms. The interior of the Evo 37 is kept simple and is based on that of the Lancia 037.

Price is around €480.000

The dashboard is flat and carries analogue instruments and the handbrake is hydraulically operated. The processing of the complete vehicle is at a very high level. The Kimera Evo 37 pays homage to the Lancia 037 and is an authentic evolution of an Italian rally legend. It combines tradition and innovation to create a unique driving experience. And in Hagerty's latest YouTube video, Henry Catchpole got to test the EVO37. If we get more information about the changes, there is of course an update for this report.
