Rolls-Royce Wraith converted to electric drive!

According to the Richmond News a Canadian named "Vincent Yu" gave up his house, several years of life and his partner to buy a Rolls-Royce Wraith in a electric vehicle to transform. Loud Richmond News Yu has spent the last four years transforming his Rolls-Royce coupe into an electric vehicle. And that was probably anything but an easy task. According to his own statement, he flew to Japan, Germany and the USA several times to get parts for the project. And the components ended up being so expensive that he even had to sell his house to finance the conversion. And the sale of the house apparently resulted in his wife leaving him. But Yu is proud of his work and according to his own statement, his Wraith can drive an impressive 311 miles (500 kilometers) on a single battery charge and that should only cost 8 CAD (5,60 euros) of electricity. For comparison: a full petrol tank (83 litres) currently costs - with us - a good 160 euros.

In addition to converting the Wraith into an EV, Yu also opened a shop with a name Mars power, to make his knowledge of the project from combustion engine to electric vehicle accessible to others. According to Yu, it was probably his daughter who gave him the idea to convert the car. Allegedly, the child came home from school one day and complained about the father's driving habits. "You shouldn't act like a wealthy idiot by driving a smelly car around town and polluting the air' his daughter said, according to Yu. He then began the conversion with a small team of mechanics and locksmiths, who he now employs in his workshop. And finally ... Cool thing!
