Roush Ford Mustang GT Old Crow: fighter pilot for the road

Roush Performance has recently presented a converted Ford Mustang GT that is supposed to be reminiscent of a P-51 Mustang fighter plane from the 1940s. The specific name is called "Roush Ford Mustang GT Old Crow" and this vehicle is very special Clarence Emil Anderson Dedicated to a former US fighter pilot in World War II and post-war test pilot. He was nicknamed "Bud" and has spent 7.500 flying lessons in 130 different types of aircraft. These are joined by 116 stakes and 16 1 / 4 confirmed air victories. He was also employed in Germany. Here he flew a fighter plane on 27 November 1944 in the dogfight between Berlin and Leipzig and scored three kills that day, of which only two are officially recognized. And as a tribute to the North American P-51 B and P-51 D fighter planes nicknamed "Old Crow", this very special Mustang comes with over 700 PS under the hammer.

Specifically, the vehicle comes with the well-known Roush performance performance enhancement on 710 PS which also Jack Hammer Mustang from 2018 wears under the hood. Most of the installed aerodynamic components from 2018 can also be seen here. What is new, however, is the huge fixed rear wing of the 2020 Shelby GT500, which of course should be reminiscent of the fighter plane. There were also Mustang GT Old Crow 20-inch alloy wheels with 275/35 Continental ExtremeContact sports tires and of course the very special color scheme. There are P-51 Anderson “Old Crow” notices everywhere and the original colors of the P-51 can also be seen. In addition, the emblem of the Eighth Air Force and even the interior has been decorated.

There were green details, brown leather sport seats with Sparco military-style four-point belts, a red gear lever and red door handles and here as well a P-51 hint (on the dashboard) should not be missing. And even a personal signature on the air filter box carries the single piece under the hood. Incidentally, the Mustang will once again be part of the AirVenture Show of the Experimental Aircraft Association on the 25. July in Oshkosh (Wisconsin) will be auctioned off. The proceeds go, as every year, to a charitable organization. If we receive timely information on other changes not mentioned before, there is of course as always an update for this report.
