Completely unknown in Germany, the Toyota Crown, especially in Japan, is an absolute bestseller and is already in its 15th generation (relevant "S220 ″, since 2018) available. The Century is now the most expensive luxury car from Toyota, but the Crown was originally the flagship sedan from the Japanese manufacturer. It is based on vehicles such as the Lexus LS and the ES and is similarly striking with the drop-shaped headlights and the large radiator grille. A very daring design for a Toyota. And in Japan, the Crown is even available in seven versions. But not more than Royal Saloon or Athlete, but now with a new name "B, S, G, G-Executive, RS-B-, RS- and RS Advance ", And as Crown Comfort or just Toyota Comfort, it is extremely popular as a taxi in Hong Kong and Singapore. For the engine, Toyota relies on a 2,0-liter turbo with 245 hp and 350 Nm torque, a 2,5-liter hybrid with 226 hp and who wants 6-cylinder can do a 3,5-liter V6 hybrid order with 359 hp.
RS body kit on the Toyota Crown
And for the current Crown with any engine (AZSH20 / ARS220 / GWS224), the Japanese tuner Rowen International now has a subtle body kit called "RS" at the start that skilfully underlines the factory lines. Rowen does not modify the elegant limousine excessively, but starts at exactly the right points. For example, the front was given a discreet spoiler with additional LED lights that fit perfectly and almost integrated into the series look. There is no need for additional side skirts or sill swords, but there is still a bit of aerodynamics for the rear. Here you have a small spoiler lip ready for the tailgate and successfully rounds off the rear view with a rear apron attachment in diffuser optics and a small roof spoiler. And a sports exhaust system with four round tailpipes is also installed on the exhibition vehicle, which really allows the sporty impression of the diffuser to come into its own.
Diffuser and sports exhaust system
In addition, the Japanese have also been given a new set of wheels and a subtle lowering completes the changes to the Japanese sedan. While Japanese body kits are often particularly striking, this variant is very delicate and successful, as we find. The overall impression is convincing and if the Crown were also available in Germany, the body kit would very likely also get a lot of approval. Since this is not the case, the chances of seeing a Toyota Crown with Rowen International Bodykit on German roads are likely to be close to zero. It's a shame actually ...
