Studebaker Corporation

The Studebaker company from America acted as a manufacturer of wagons, carriages, automobiles, commercial vehicles, industrial products and, during the war, also for armaments. And Studebaker has its origins in the middle of the 18th century. Studebaker was founded as a forge on February 16, 1852. 16 years later, in 1868, Studebaker was then registered as the Studebaker Brothers Manufacturing Company. In the period from 1911 to 1954 and from 1961 to 1966, the manufacturer then operated as the Studebaker Corporation. In the meantime one merged with the smaller Packard Motor Car Company to the Studebaker-Packard Corporation. But the cooperation was de facto in 1958 and finally formally ended again in 1961. In 1966, Studebaker withdrew from the automotive industry and in the last few years of its existence it was called Studebaker-Worthington. Well-known vehicles were the Scotsman, the Lark, the Wagonaire, the Champion and the luxury liners President, Land Cruiser and, as the last vehicle, the Avanti.
