After the recently presented Porsche 911 Oregon in dark green The next spectacular specimen comes from the Porsche specialists Singer Vehicle Design's, Just in time for the popular Festival of Speed at Goodwood (12 until 15, July 2018), the Porsche 911 has been completed on the basis of the 964 model. The project carries the suffix DLS for what Dynamics and Lightweighting Study should stand. The absolute highlight is the brand new engine of the XNUMX in the form of an air-cooled four-liter boxer engine.

Porsche 911 DLS

The starting point for the engine is the 3,6-liter flat-six from the 911 964 (1990), which produces half (250 hp). Cylinder heads with four valves per cylinder, lots of titanium, carbon and aluminum as well as a second oil circuit and an "Inconel" nickel sports exhaust system bring the 100% growth.

The engine was created in cooperation with Hans Mezger and Williams and delivers the brutal 500 hp at an incredible 9.000 rpm. The power is transmitted with a magnesium gearbox from Hewland, which supplies the rear wheels (BBS magnesium rims) with power by means of a differential lock. Incidentally, the classic is slowed down by means of a Brembo ceramic brake system. In view of the fact that the vehicle only has a curb weight of approx. 990 kg, the key data are even more spectacular, in our opinion. In order to achieve the low total weight, Singer uses a lot of carbon, magnesium and titanium. Like the Oregon 911 project, the DLS was created at the special request of a Singer customer.

It is about Scott Blattner that too absinthe green 964 from 2017 heard. The goal this time was maximum power with minimum weight and best performance. In order to bring the performance to the road, no effort was spared and even racing driver Marino Franchitti and the car journalist Chris Harris were included in the vote. And the interior has also been completely revised and designed entirely for racing. Here, too, there is what feels like tons of carbon, there is an open shift gate, dreamlike Recaro bucket seats and a high-end instrument panel with a classic look. A MOMO sports steering wheel reduced to the essentials and a roll cage impressively round off the interior.
