Do you fancy something unique? Then we have a tip for you. For the upcoming Gathering of Eagles charity event on July 28th, Ford is auctioning a unique Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang with “Ole Yeller” added to the name. The Mustang was built as an homage to the P-51D US fighter (single-engine, single-seat, all-metal) from the Second World War. The homage goes especially to the pilot Robert A. "Bob" Hoover and his Ole Yeller P-51D airplane with bright yellow paintwork. Built on behalf of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), the eye-catching 350 will be auctioned and is likely to bring in a six-figure amount.
The guys around Ford and Shelby American have released the "Ole Yeller" Mustang the days and we are happy to show you the first pictures. After the visually comprehensive tuning cure that the Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang was allowed to endure, it is now bright yellow, with bright green LED lighting inside and outside and with many P-51D accents, again much more exciting and individual than the already heavily modified Shelby GT350 there. So if you are thinking of putting something unique in your garage in the future, the auction in Oshkosh in the US state of Wisconsin is certainly an interesting starting point when it comes to fulfilling exactly this wish.
