ŠKODA Motorsport is celebrating its 120th motorsport anniversary with the limited ŠKODA FABIA Rally2 evo Edition 120. There will only be twelve of the special model, which has the most important technical upgrades of the 2021 version of the ŠKODA FABIA Rally2 evo on board. The extended scope of equipment also includes additional racing equipment and other exclusive accessories as well as a special paintwork. ŠKODA Motorsport is now accepting orders for the ŠKODA FABIA Rally2 evo Edition 120. ŠKODA is celebrating its 120th motorsport anniversary this year. In 1901 the company from Mladá Boleslav first started with motorcycles in endurance races, but soon relied on four wheels in motor racing and has since achieved countless victories in hill climbs, circuit races and rallies. Most recently, ŠKODA dominated the WRC2 / WRC2 Pro category of the FIA ​​World Rally Championship.

On the occasion of 120 years of racing tradition, ŠKODA Motorsport is presenting a strictly limited special series of its rally vehicle, which is currently used very successfully by numerous customer teams: the ŠKODA FABIA Rally2 evo Edition 120 is only built twelve times. In addition to the most important technical upgrades of the current 2021 model generation, each of these vehicles also has numerous additional features. The extended standard equipment of the ŠKODA FABIA Rally2 evo Edition 120 includes, among other things, a set of green painted magnesium wheels and a complete battery of auxiliary and cornering headlights with LED technology.

In addition, the special edition vehicles come with a package with additional equipment as standard, for which ŠKODA Motorsport used the experience of the works drivers. These include, for example, bags or packing nets for stowing personal equipment, tools, spare parts or other items. Additional accessories such as small backpacks for drinking water (camel bags), containers for operating fluids and much more complete the package of extensive extras. The limited special model is also characterized by an exclusive "Edition 120" welcome screen for both monitors in the cockpit, a specially painted body and a badge with the individual edition number. A special certificate, items from the ŠKODA merchandising collection and an exclusive model of the ŠKODA FABIA Rally2 evo Edition 120 in 1:18 scale complete the offer.

“The limited ŠKODA FABIA Rally2 evo Edition 120 is a particularly well-equipped version of our successful rally vehicle, which has been further optimized for the 2021 season. With a comprehensive package of exclusive equipment components, the special model is much more than a further developed version of our successful rally vehicle. The exclusive special edition has what it takes to become a real collector's item, ”says Michal Hrabánek, Director of ŠKODA Motorsport.

The ŠKODA FABIA Rally2 evo Edition 120 has all the factory-installed features of the 2021 technology upgrade. When optimizing the engine, the technicians focused on the mixture preparation and the gas exchange in the combustion chamber. They revised the intercooler, optimized the exhaust manifold, changed the valve timing and re-tuned the engine electronics. These modifications improve the engine characteristics and increase the output - depending on the fuel quality - by two kW to up to 214 kW. Recalibrated shock absorbers ensure greater traction and stability on all road surfaces and give the driver even more confidence in the vehicle.

Increase in performance and greater reliability

When upgrading the ŠKODA FABIA Rally2 evo for the 2021 season, in addition to a further increase in performance, the specifications also included an even higher level of reliability. A stronger subframe for the rear axle minimizes the risk of damage in this area during tough rallies. A special cooling device for the rear brakes, which was originally only homologated for the asphalt specification of the ŠKODA FABIA Rally2 evo, is now also available in the configuration for gravel rallies. The engine of the 2021 variant - and thus also the special model ŠKODA FABIA Rally2 evo Edition 120 - also has a newly designed suction strainer in the oil pan and a new shape of the baffle plates, which also optimizes the oil supply to the turbocharger and its reliability. Furthermore, these modifications made it possible to reduce the oil volume of the engine. Newly arranged steering wheel buttons, up to eight of them for different functions, as well as a newly designed holder for the jack further improve the ergonomics and the handling of the vehicle for the crew. All 2021 components of the ŠKODA FABIA Rally2 evo are already homologated and therefore approved for use in motorsport.

Buyers of the limited special model ŠKODA FABIA Rally2 evo Edition 120 can book additional options, including a longer final gear ratio. With it, the top speed increases to 202 km / h. ŠKODA Motorsport now also has a third variant of the differential ramps (48/70) in its range, which can be used in both gravel and asphalt rallies, especially for special stages with particularly grippy surfaces.
