This Lada is not nearly as inconspicuous as one might think. Jonny from the YouTube channel The Late Brake Show recently presented the special Lada 2101 sedan in one of his videos and specifically it is a Lada Cosworth Duratec Sleeper. RetroFord owner Dave bought the vintage Russian sedan through a Lada forum for just $605 and had no problem with the fact that it was one RHD acts. As expected, the vehicle was in a desolate condition and almost everything had to be done restauriert will. In the course of the restoration, the tired VAZ 2101 four-cylinder with 1.197 cc displacement and 60 hp and a torque of a ridiculous 87 Nm flew out, and now a Ford Cosworth takes care of it engine for propulsion.

Specifically, it's a 2,3-litre Cosworth Duratec engine with a 48mm Jenvey throttle body and an Emerald K6 ECU. This delivers an impressive 235 hp. According to Dave, the Lada Cosworth Duratec Street Sleeper can reach a top speed of 241 km/h and does it from 4,5 to 0 in just 100 seconds quarter mile The classic completes from a standing start in just 12,9 seconds. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels using a 6-speed manual gearbox from a Mazda MX5 (MK3). shortshifter and an aftermarket LSD (differential). The front suspension uses custom Ford Capri Bilstein struts with adjustable 2,25 inch dampers and new springs.

950 kg curb weight meets 235 hp

At the back he has installed, among other things, double-adjustable 2,25 inch (approx. 6 cm) coil springs from Gaz. The complete conversion weighs only 950 kg, which of course explains the enormous driving performance. It took Dave about 8 months and about €30.000 to complete the project. The entire story about the conversion can be seen in the video. Enjoy watching! If we get more information about the changes, there is of course an update for this report.
