BMW lets them 3.0 CSL Homage R actually become a reality! From the M boss Frank van Meel there were first pictures on his "private" Instagram channel yesterday and of course everything is still top secret. And so it is not surprising that the elaborate foiling hardly reveals any lines or details worth mentioning. the kidneys and the front apron but let it be seen that the small series should remind of the 3.0 CSL homage from 2015. And apparently the vehicle is based on that 550 hp M4 CSL. The thick Front spoiler attachment with the two round air intakes below the headlights and also reminds of the one recently shown in the video M3 CSL V8 (E46) and at the stern the trunk lid spoiler as the Roof edge spoiler are then again 3.0 CSL Hommage Style.

According to the rumor mill on the net, this vehicle could be the fastest production BMW of all time, since one of about 600 PS speaks and at the same time more to the CSL Lightweight construction measures how an outer skin made almost entirely of carbon should be available. In addition, the teaser already indicates that the wind tunnel also plays an important role in the development. And with lettering like "I like it rare", "Insanely Epic" and especially "6MT FTW" there are interesting hints that indicate that the small series as Manual Gearbox will come with a six-speed gearbox.

V8 or straight six?

Independent of BMW M V8 biturbo image (shows the S63B44T4) at the rear, we'd guess that S58-line six-cylinder under the hood. Although it will probably have the highest performance level ex works, the V8 from the M5, M8 & Co. will most likely not find its way. It is also claimed that BMW forged new 20 and 21 inch rims will be installed and features such as parking sensors, keyless entry and electric seats will be deleted. Anyway, the rumor mill also says that probably no more than 50 copies are to be built. Production is said to start in November and will only last a few months.
