Already 2017 we have with a short video completely rebuilt 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 from Tuner SpeedKore presents. And now "Iron Man" Robert Downey Jr. (owner) has published new pictures of the vehicle, which we take as a reason to introduce the Mustang to you. As already mentioned, the vehicle was converted by SpeedKore and once again this project makes classic and even modern cars look really old. Speedkore is known for fantastic restomod projects like one 67er Camaro with 1.000 PS or even the 1970er Carbon Charger to stand up. And the 1970er Ford Mustang Boss 302 is no exception. Incidentally, the decision was made for the rare performace version of the pony car, which only had 1628 x built.

The vehicle was from Detroit Speed put on a new aluminum frame. Underneath the hood is a five-liter V8 that uses Rush supercharged power to forget about the standard 290 PS and 390 NM and shakes off legendary 670 PS. So that the performance at the wheels is consistently implemented, there was a bowler differential (T56) and of course the transmission, the drives and everything else was adapted to the huge performance increase. And visually, a lot has happened. For the layman but certainly only at second glance apparent.

Carbon, carbon, carbon ...

There was a body kit that is made entirely of carbon and decorated the hood, the bumpers, the side skirts, the front splitter and the rear spoiler in carbon fiber. The rest of the body was wrapped in a striking "khaki yellow" and thus sets a skilful accent and ultimately also the perfect "heritage styling". Modern, but still extremely suitable, are the custom-made HRE Performance Wheels forged rims that are equipped with high-performance rubber from Michelin. They also shine in Heritage Style (similar to the Panasport wheel from the 60 years) and fit perfectly. Thanks to their significant lowering, they sit optimally in the wheel arch and, especially on the rear axle, come in an extremely fat format. And you have completely redesigned the cabin of the boss.

The guys from “Gabe's Street Rod Custom Interiors” implemented this and an absolute highlight was also created here. There are two sporty bucket seats, loads of dark brown and black leather, a handcrafted / bespoke steering wheel and even a fully functional air conditioner is built in. RDJ looks at an analog speedometer while driving and enjoys high-quality pedals and a new sound system. A dream vehicle that Robert Downey Jr. will probably not give away anymore. If we receive timely information on further changes not mentioned so far, there will of course be an update for this report. It is best to subscribe to our feed and if there is something new you will be informed immediately. We hope you enjoy looking at the pictures.
