685 PS & 24 Zöller: SPOFEC refines the Rolls-Royce Phantom

The Rolls-Royce Phantom is one of the most exclusive automobiles in the world in its latest generation. SPOFEC refines the English luxury automobile with great attention to detail and gives it a touch more sportiness with individual components of the highest quality. Tailored carbon fiber body panels make the Phantom even more exciting, along with bespoke 24 custom alloy wheels, developed in cooperation with American high-tech manufacturer Vossen. The SPOFEC wheels offer just as much driving dynamics as the lowered chassis. The powerful SPOFEC engine tuning on 504 kW / 685 PS and 1010 Nm also offers a significant gain in dynamics. The German company SPOFEC is a division of the NOVITEC Group and is exclusively concerned with the personalization of the current Rolls-Royce vehicles from Goodwood.

Carbon SPOFEC design components

The SPOFEC team has many years of experience to tastefully refine such an exclusive car as the Rolls-Royce Phantom. For this, the designers have developed tasteful and aerodynamically efficient body parts that fit perfectly into the lines of the luxury liner. All SPOFEC design components are produced from carbon composite for a perfect fit and surface quality as well as optimal paintability. The SPOFEC front bumper completely replaces the series bumper. Its sophisticated shape with integrated spoiler not only gives the phantom an even more distinctive face, but also reduces the lift on the front axle at high speeds. The SPOFEC side skirts with their raised flaps behind the front wheel arches take on the shape of the front apron and make the phantom look deeper and even more stretched.

The SPOFEC fender attachments behind the front wheel arches set the brand emblems even more effectively in scene. The rear view is also shaped more athletically with the SPOFEC rear bumper, which is also designed as a complete part, and with the discreet spoiler. In addition, the spoiler lip on the trunk contributes to an optimal aerodynamic balance. Another important design element is the SPOFEC SP2 wheels custom-made for the phantom. Vossen is responsible for design and production. The US company is one of the world's leading manufacturers of high-tech forged wheels. The SPOFEC SP2 wheels impress with their exceptional styling with nine double pairs of spokes and the large center cover that conceals the wheel bolts. In addition, they offer enormous strength and are therefore also suitable for the Phantom EWB with a longer wheelbase.

Format 10Jx24 with 295 / 30 R 24 tires

The SPOFEC wheels are driven all around in the 10Jx24 format with 295 / 30 R 24 tires and are available in numerous optical variations: Not only does 72 use a variety of colors, it also has the option of ordering wheels with a brushed or polished surface. The Rolls-Royce Phantom has an adaptive air suspension for its proverbial ride comfort. The SPOFEC suspension technicians developed a special control module that lowers the luxury saloon up to a speed of 140 km / h compared to the series by about 40 millimeters. At higher speeds, the body automatically raises back to its original level. The SPOFEC performance enhancement for the 6,75 liter twelve-cylinder engine of the Rolls-Royce Phantom offers another plus in driving dynamics. For this purpose, a processor-controlled N-TRONIC module is integrated into the engine electronics in a plug-and-play process.

The auxiliary control unit has special maps for injection and ignition and increases the boost pressure of the twin-turbo engine. From this measure, 84 kW / 114 PS results in more peak power and a maximum torque increased by 110 Nm. With 504 kW / 685 PS and 1010 Nm, the Rolls-Royce Phantom upgraded by SPOFEC sprints from 5,0 - 0 km / h in just 100 seconds. The EWB version with a long wheelbase only needs a tenth of a second more. The top speed remains electronically limited to 250 km / h due to the high vehicle weight. Thanks to the harmonious combination with the eight-speed automatic transmission, the SPOFEC performance increase is not only reflected in improved performance: the even more powerful power delivery of the V12 ensures an even more superior driving experience in the traffic, while maintaining a high level of refinement. Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
