The company Stefan Schlund Racing (SSR Performance) from Munich is a renowned provider of high-quality tuning and motorsport solutions for various car brands. It was founded in 2016 by Stefan Schlund, a passionate racing driver and engineer who uses his motorsport experience to develop and optimize vehicles. SSR Performance is even active in racing and takes part in various series such as the ADAC GT Masters or the Nürburgring Endurance Series. And now you want to pack all that knowledge into a road vehicle and create the ultimate version of the Porsche 911. In this regard, SSR Performance is a new player on the scene. The 992 Turbo, named SSR GT, scores with refined aerodynamics and enormous power. But it is planned to build only ten copies!
SSR GT Porsche 911 Turbo
SSR Performance represents "Stefan Schlund Racing", and the company from Munich is broadly positioned in many respects. SSR is currently bringing three in the DTM Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo 2 into the race. In addition, SSR also takes care of the repair and maintenance of sports cars, carries out classic car restorations and even offers vehicle storage. The wide range of services offered by SSR therefore includes much more. And with the expertise gathered in motorsport, after two years of development work, SSR has now presented the GT based on the Porsche 911 (992) Turbo S, whose tuning drives were carried out at the Hockenheimring, among other places.
The self-imposed goal was to create the ultimate 911, with better drivability both on roads and on various racetracks and significantly increased performance. Let's look at the performance first: the 3,8-liter six-cylinder in the 992 Turbo S has been extensively modified in this regard. New turbochargers, improved intercooling, revised intake and a new exhaust system increase the performance to a massive 860 hp and 950 Nm. Compared to the standard Turbo S, that's an increase of 210 hp and 150 Nm and compared to the 992 Turbo we're even talking about an increase of 280 hp and 200 Nm. SSR specifies the top speed of the Super 340 as a limited 330 km/h (Turbo S: XNUMX km/h).
SSR promises improved driving performance
But performance is not everything, because despite the increased power, the GT should also have improved driving performance - both on the road and on the race track. For this, SSR has placed great value on improving the aerodynamics. A closed carbon underbody reduces drag, while a new fixed carbon wing and a new front end reminiscent of the 992 GT3 RS triple downforce compared to the standard 911 turbo. And in order to achieve optimal race track performance, the brake cooling is also improved and a new chassis is installed, whose multi-adjustable dampers were developed on a Formula 1 test bench.
