STARTECH refines the new Land Rover Defender!

In 1948 the first Land Rover celebrated its world premiere at the Amsterdam Motor Show. As a result, it evolved over six generations from a pure off-road vehicle to a coveted lifestyle SUV, with only subtle changes in appearance. In 2016 the production of the legendary off-road veteran was discontinued after 68 years of production. As a farewell to this unique automobile, STARTECH, a company of the BRABUS Group, presented the SIXTY8 an exclusively equipped special model. The limited edition of 68 vehicles worldwide, one car per year of production, was sold out within a very short time, making the STARTECH SIXTY8 a coveted collector's item today. The new Land Rover Defender has been around since 2020. With unmistakable design borrowings from its legendary predecessor, which have been combined with the latest technology.

And if you want to make your four-wheel drive even more fascinating, you will find a sophisticated and at STARTECH Announced in 2020 (the widebody components are still missing) Refinement program that makes both the three and five-door models an unmistakable urban lifestyle jewel. A sporty body styling kit is just as much a part of the STARTECH portfolio as mighty STARTECH Monostar E wheels with a 23 inch diameter.

An innovative attachment for the rear door replaces the bulky spare wheel and gives the Defender a sportier rear view without a spare wheel. The STARTECH lowering module for the standard air suspension not only makes the British SUV look more athletic, but also optimizes handling thanks to the lowered center of gravity. Another focus is on the interior design, where the in-house STARTECH saddlery creates a particularly exclusive ambience in the Land Rover Defender. But let's get to the body components first.

Body styling kit for street use

The STARTECH designers developed a body styling kit for the new Defender, which is designed for road use and gives the Land Rover a decidedly dynamic look. All body components are produced in original equipment quality from ABS plastic. The front bumper is upgraded with a three-part front spoiler, the middle part of which takes on the look of an underride guard through two vertical ribs. The two side parts are shaped in such a way that they reduce the lift on the front axle at high speeds. As an aerodynamic counterpart, there is a spoiler at the rear that extends the roof section towards the rear.

For owners of the new Defender who find the spare wheel mounted on the outside of the rear annoying, the STARTECH designers developed a tailor-made cover for the tailgate. After dismantling the fifth wheel, including the holder, this accessory part not only covers the mounting brackets: the STARTECH attachment part takes on the contours of the Union Jack, the British national flag. On request, this smart accessory is also available in the colors of this flag.

Body parts in vehicle or contrasting color

In order to make the new Land Rover look even more homogeneous, STARTECH also offers high-quality painting of all ex-factory matt black and silver body parts in vehicle or contrasting colors. For a more exciting appearance on the boulevard, a wheel / tire combination in king-size format is of course also required. STARTECH is upgrading the new Defender with Monostar E wheels in size 10.5Jx23. To emphasize the sporty look of the light alloy rims with ten filigree pairs of spokes, the hub cover is designed like a central lock. As the largest TÜV-tested variant, YOKOHAMA road tires of size 305/35 R 23 can be used as tires. The excellent handling qualities of the sporty low-profile tires can be further enhanced with a STARTECH development for the chassis.

Lowering by means of a control module for the chassis

The tuner's engineers and test drivers designed a special control module for the Land Rover's standard air suspension. As in the series, the various modes can still be selected in the cockpit. If the mode for road operation is activated, the Defender with the STARTECH suspension control lowers itself approx. 35 millimeters lower than in the standard configuration. The height setting in the resting state remains unchanged in order to continue to offer optimal comfort when getting in and out. In order to have more ground clearance for off-road driving, the higher position in Off Road mode also remains unchanged. STARTECH also offers exclusive refinement options for the interior of the new Land Rover. It starts with attractive, red, blue or black anodized screw sets that replace the standard screw connections in the interior.

Aluminum panels in the interior of the Defender

The standard, silver-colored aluminum panels on the door panels, the center console and the dashboard can be replaced by high-quality painted STARTECH elements in many colors. The range of exclusive accessories ranges from elegant floor protectors, which also show the manufacturer's logo, to pedals and a footrest made of aluminum. In addition, STARTECH master upholsterers have developed three tailor-made interior packages with which the interior can be refined in various stages with the finest leather and Alcantara in a practically limitless variety of colors, stitching and upholstery designs.
