Back to the Roots of Dakar - Suzuki Jimny of delta4x4

It's been a long time since 1982 attracted two young off-road enthusiasts to the Paris-Algiers-Dakar Rally. The goal? With a small Suzuki LJ 80 (at that time it was the smallest 4 × 4 vehicle in the whole world) to travel to the far away Dakar. More than just an ambitious challenge as it turned out! But in the end, the boys succeeded. And now, almost 40 years later, the delta4x4 tuner picks up on the idea of using the still-owned 1982 racing car as a template to build a "Dakar version" based on the current Suzuki Jimny (model GJ) , The goal: true to detail down to the historic rally stickers all around. First of all, there was a suspension for 30mm using the Delta Suspension Distance Kit in combination with a body lift kit that allows a whopping 50 millimeter vehicle height for the Japanese.

significantly more powerful compared to the series

These two changes already ensure that the body of the Jimny is raised by a good 80 millimeters and the rest is made possible by the huge tires on new rims. One-piece forged aluminum rims of the type delta Legacy Forged in the format 16 × 8 inches were installed and the new wheel set is equipped with off-road tires from Mickey Thompson which look really cool with white lettering. More precisely, it is the type Baja STZ in kingsize format 285 / 75R16 126 / 123R which now rotates in the wheel arches. And so that the wheels are properly covered, delta4x4 had to install special fender flares / wheel covers. Here, too, you could fall back on your own components and opted for the so-called "delta wide body fender flares", which ensure a substantial increase of 130 mm.

compared to its predecessor - huge

In front of the windshield, the Jimny received a PIAA additional light in the style of the original vehicle and as already indicated, there was also a lot of stickers around all the way to the start number 205. In homage to the dainty predecessor a great idea of delta4x4 and especially off-piste, this vehicle should be unstoppable.
