When Suzuki launched the current generation of the Jimny at the end of 2018, the hype surrounding the iconic mini off-roader was huge. He immediately became the darling of the masses and a lot of tuning companies immediately introduced refinement programs for the little Suzuki, for example to turn the little one into a Mini-G-Class or a small monster truck. Now the Japanese tuner JAOS has also considered something to create his very own Jimny. This has a lift, coarse-tread off-road tires from BF-Goodrich called Mud-Terrain T / A KM3, and 16-inch models from the Suzuki range of accessories painted in matt gray. To ensure that nothing is left to chance in the field, the tuned Suzuki Jimny, which is called JAOS Excel JX3, also has an integrated electronic cable winch, which is attached under the vehicle at the front left.

The headlights have not been modified, but JAOS has used a new grill, which is reminiscent of the small Kei cars from Suzuki called Lapin and Hustler, which are celebrating great success in the Japanese market. In addition, all Suzuki emblems and lettering have been removed and replaced by JAOS lettering and emblems. In the interior, the small Kraxler has a removable sports steering wheel and a 5-speed manual transmission, which is very unusual in the auto-dominated Japanese market. At the rear, the four small round taillights are also striking, which are intended to signal a cool look in the Nissan GTR style, although these two stars of the JDM tuning scene have nothing in common, apart from four wheels and a steering wheel.
Drive and chassis designed for the terrain
The ladder frame, the rigid axle at the rear and the leaf springs make it clear that the little Suzuki is a workhorse for off-road and feels much more comfortable off the beaten track than on the highway, where it runs out of steam at 145 km / h. The 1,5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine with 102 hp and 130 Newton meters is completely sufficient for all-wheel drive off-road, and the five-speed manual transmission is ideal for off-road parties, since it offers more control off-road than the optionally available four-speed automatic transmission, which is also very antiquated acts.
You can compete in a rally with the JAOS JX3.
The Jimny, called JAOS JX3, is quite capable of doing all-terrain rallies, and does not stop at steep slopes, deep mud and difficult descents. This type of tuning is also the one that fits a Suzuki Jimny much better than trying to turn it into a boulevard cruiser. As funny as a Mini-G-Class may seem, it somehow doesn't suit the pithy character of this little roughneck when a tuning company tries to turn it into a city SUV that tries on Maximilianstrasse in Munich or on the Königsallee in Düsseldorf powerful impression. Regarding the parts of JAOS Tuning it is not yet known whether they are available in Germany and at what price they are offered.
