Hard to believe, but the Toyota Land Cruiser model generation J1984, introduced in 70, is still being built. And despite its age, the pick-up, which can be used anywhere, shows almost no signs of age, as various updates have been made time and again, for example to meet the ever-stricter safety regulations. And just recently, a company specializing in armored vehicles has presented one of the craziest conversions we've ever seen based on the classic J70. The vehicle could be seen for the first time at the Africa Aerospace and Defense Show (AAD2022) in South Africa and the name is MAX 3 Six Wheeler. The conversion comes from SVI Engineering and is based, as well this SVI version with one axis less, on the J79 chassis. But for the 2022 model year, the MAX3 was given the addition "Six Wheeler“, which, as the name suggests, adds a third axis.

But also on the factory-installed one Front and rear axles Various adjustments were made (rear axle widened) to adjust the track width, for example. This allegedly corrected a J79 "anomaly", at least SVI claims. In addition, the two rear axles now have a new one Disc brake system, so that the high vehicle weight does not become a problem. The result of the complete conversion somehow reminds us of a vehicle for the next Mad Max film, which is particularly due to the angular Body made of armored sheet steel. It is said to be able to withstand an attack with assault rifles and anti-personnel grenades (anti-personnel grenades). By default, the body has a Protection level of type EN1063 BR6, but it can optionally also be on BR7 be upgraded.
Further, SVI Engineering has a new rear one Stabilisator installed and extensive suspension optimized. And since the monster has gained weight accordingly, a powerful engine is of course a must. And so it is not surprising that the indestructible 4,5 liter V8 turbo diesel engine made by Toyota, which can move the maximum total weight of 5.500 kilograms. And included in the weight is the installed one drone intercept mechanism, which consists of a radar that can detect and identify enemy drones. Once that is done, the data is transferred to that battle management system sent that with an automatic grenade launcher connected and the drone shoots down.
And by the way, there is also an all-terrain one Motorrad to be seen on the extended loading area in order to be able to catch up with "the booty". There are a multitude of these storage compartments outdoors and Seating & Standing places for up to four people (various changes may increase the number to eight). Incidentally, the concept vehicle presented at the AAD2022 is based on the double cabin as already linked, there is also a variant for the single cabin (Troop Carrier/WorkMate). If we get more information about the changes, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed about this if you simply use our Feed subscribe to.
