For many, “the” or “the” Toyota Supra is as Japanese as mangas, Godzilla or sake. The fans were accordingly shocked when the sports car was discontinued in 2002. 17 years later the dry spell came to an end and the GR Supra was a brilliant success: great design, mega-direct steering, ideal weight distribution of 50:50, active differential and impressive engines. The suspension experts at BILSTEIN decided to get the most out of these steep templates and, together with partner Lightweight Performance and other renowned tuning companies, built a 462,9 hp track tool. All videos published so far about the project can be found here: supra.bilstein.com. The heart of the conversion is the new BILSTEIN EVO T1 coilover kit - and it will finally be officially available for the Supra from November 2021. It is now available from BILSTEIN suspension experts or from Online Store of the manufacturer.

The “T” in the name naturally stands for “Track”. Thus, the street-legal and thoroughly comfortable coilover kit not only provides a lot of driving fun in everyday life, but also on the racetrack. The BILSTEIN EVO T1, coordinated worldwide in the BILSTEIN test drive on the Nordschleife, the test track in Papenburg and road surfaces, is the ideal choice when a maximum of set-up options is required. Thanks to the 10-fold dual-click adjustment via an aluminum rotary wheel, tension and compression levels can be adjusted in parallel without tools when installed. For the front axle, for example, all you have to do is open the bonnet to access the rotary wheel. A significantly more precise articulation behavior compared to the series and the more direct contact with the road are just a small foretaste of what Supra pilots can expect from the dynamic damper detection.

With the Supra, the EVO T1 can be lowered by between 10 and 35 mm, depending on the axle position and engine. This can be varied flexibly at any time without dismantling and noticeably reduces pitching and rolling movements. Each position is already covered by the corresponding report, so that no separate entry has to be made. Furthermore, every setting variant of the EVO T1 is sensible and safe to drive. All in all, your own Supra remains a daily driver with which driving to work is just as much fun as a trip to the racetrack.

Incidentally, the EVO T1 is the youngest member of the EVO Performance Line, which stands for the latest generation of coilovers from BILSTEIN. There is an overview of the entire range on offer here on the Internet.
