Video: 1.000 HP Hellephant V8 swap in the Dodge Demon!

This Dodge Challenger SRT Demon has a so-called Crate engine receive. So an engine that was not specially developed for the Challenger, but can be installed in almost all vehicles with enough space. The choice fell on the so-called Hellephant engine from Mopar. This is a 426 cubic inch Hemi V8. An engine with a long history and a loyal following. And the team from Demonology built the engine into the limited Challenger SRT Demon, which is not necessarily weak with standard 852 PS. But why be satisfied with "only" 850 HP when 1.000 HP are possible without any problems? The following measurement on the test bench shows what this engine is capable of. The Demon from Demonology brings 944 hp to the rear wheels which should correspond to a good 15 hp at a power loss of approx. 1.100%.

Manufacturer FCA specifies 1.000 hp

Compared to the production engine of the Demon, this is of course a huge surcharge and even the 1.000 PS specified by FCA are clearly exceeded. However, it is currently unknown whether this engine was simply installed or whether it received further modifications. And the power loss we estimate, the selected test bench and the ambient temperature also have an impact on the result. The key data should therefore be used with caution. By the way, we only find the selected base vehicle somewhat questionable. After all, it seems to be possible to run the Demon engine without any problems push over 1.000 horsepower and even 1.500 hp are feasible. In a "normal" Challenger or any other vehicle in general, we would find the $ 30.000 engine to make sense, but in the limited Challenger Demon - in our opinion -Schnussinn.
