Tesla Inc. was founded by 2003 in Palo Alto, United States. Before February 2017 was the company name Tesla Motors. The company transacts 21 billion dollars annually (2018) and employed 2019's close to 50.000 employees. Tesla manufactures and sells electric cars, power storage systems and photovoltaic systems worldwide. Most people associate Tesla with the S, 3, X and Y electric vehicles, which sold 2010 and 2018 over 200.000 vehicles. With the Tesla Roadster succeeded the perfect industry entry, because this model was the world's first electronic production vehicle, which was equipped with a lithium-ion battery. The Model S is very popular in the tuning scene and is subjected according to a, mainly external, vehicle tuning. There are now many professional tuning workshops, for example the Germans Novitec GmbH & Co. KG, which specialize in Tesla models. Tesla works with well-known competitors like Daimler, Toyota or non-industry companies such as Panasonic together. In this context, common components are being developed (Toyota), drive components supplied (Daimler) or tinkered with innovative, forward-looking lithium-ion batteries (Panasonic).
